DIY Father’s Day Apron

Father’s Day is right around the corner and I’ve made the coolest DIY Father’s Day Apron. I tried ice dying for the first time about a month ago on a tablecloth and loved it. I decided to use the same technique on my aprons and am so happy with the outcome. After dyeing my aprons, I added some embroidery and have the coolest, customized gift. What you need: RIT Dye, ice, cotton apron, embroidery floss, embroidery hoop, needle, container, gloves You can find these plain, white aprons at most craft stores and Walmart. The white cotton works best for this DIY Father’s Day Apron. Place your apron in a container and add ice. Pour the Rit Dye over the ice. Set the apron aside and let the ice melt. Rise the apron in cold water and wash according to the package. Be sure to wear gloves so you don’t stain your hands. This is what my apron looked like after being washed. I used an embroidery hoop to add names to my aprons. I love how these DIY Father’s Day Apron’s turned out. They aren’t cheesy and are are definitely something any Dad would love to wear while grilling or working on household projects. I used black dye, but love how these aprons look like denim. The Grandpa’s in this family are going to love these. I also have to show off this watch that we got Matt for Father’s Day. We ordered this customized, wood watch from the Cabany co. and it is so cool! This company sells lots of different, customized wood gifts for men (and women) and it’s really great stuff.
