Imagination Creation Finished Cross Stitching

Update: Finally Framed with a beautifully made nifty little frame designed to hold an embroidery hoop from Stitch Life Studio on Etsy.

This was my last finish for 2011 and I included it in my annual stitching report, but then I realized I didn’t give it’s own blog post and formally declare it finished. So here it is…

This is Imagination Creation, design by Jennifer Aikman-Smith at Dragon Dreams for the 2005 Fantasy Faire. I had this kitted up in my stash since the event and just now finally stitched it up – and I’m so glad I did! I think instead of framing I’m going to do a flat board finish. I recently saw someone displaying their small cross stitch pieces using a plate stand and it looked fantastic, so I might try that.

I was lucky enough to get one of the charts that Jennifer signed and provided to Paw Prints Cross Stitch Shop. (Yay!) I have a handful of other charts that other designers created for Fantasy Faire that year, but this one is my favorite.

I stitched it as charted and I used 28 count Jobelan in Antique Blue, I think that worked out pretty well. I still have quite a bit of the Fantasy Blues from Dinky Dyes that was created just for Fantasy Faire that year. I know I need a little bit for another chart I have from the event (they all used the Dinky Dyes in some way in their designs, which was super cool) but then I will still have about the half skein left to do something else with…. I’m thinking maybe an ornament.

Happy Stitching!
