Repurposing a Package of Michael’s Craft Store Scissors!

I made three “sewing” themed pieces of art with Scissors as a focal point. Usually I find actual JUNK to repurpose but I cheated with these projects!

I found this package of scissors at Michael’s Craft Store for $8.99 less a 40% off coupon made the scissors cost  about $1.25 each.

I used the smallest scissors for this 5 x 7 piece.  The scissors were painted vivid colors with a little bead strand and FREE magazine font spelling out: I’m Sew Very Happy.  (I noticed I left off the apostrophe after I took the photo!)

This is the second piece I have made with this phrase.  The original sold at Sunrose Gallery here in Seaside, Oregon so I decided to see if a second piece would sell!

This 10 x 10 gallery wrapped canvas was really fun to make.  I have a basket full of of vintage buttons and this heart only took about one half hour to make.  I couldn’t resist putting butterfly wings and attaching the shabby chic painted scissors.  I think this OOAK piece is perfect for the sewing room.

I have one more pair of scissors to repurpose….waiting for inspiration to hit :  )
