Sometimes when I make a piece of art, it’s like when I make a meatloaf.  It is so good that first night, but you can use it to make something different the next day…who doesn’t like a meatloaf sandwich?

I am getting a lot of mileage from the “Be Eclectic” mixed media collage I made earlier this year.

This 10 x 10 piece has already been purchased by a cat lover at Sunrose Gallery in Seaside, Oregon.

I used the image on a plate using waterslide decals and gave it as a Christmas present to my cat loving friend Cathy who actually has a “Cattitude” bumper sticker on her car.

When I got my new inkjet Shrink Film I was so excited to see if I could use the same image to make some whimsical earrings.  I love how they turned out!  They could not be easier to make.

It doesn’t matter which side you print the image on the Shrink film…YAY!  After the ink is dry (I wait 2 minutes) cut them out and punch a hole for the jewelry finding. Place them on a piece of parchment paper or vellum on a cookie sheet in a 350 degree oven for 2 minutes.  DONE!

Make sure each image is 3″ tall when you print them…they will shrink to 1.5″.

You will notice these pdf images are much lighter than the originals, that is because the color intensifies as it shrinks, so lighter is better :  )  Also use a regular paper punch for the earring finding hole because the hole really shrinks.  When you cut the cats out, you can leave the black edge or remove most of it as I did.

Have fun making some darling OOAK earrings!
