A Halloween Makeover

Halloween Makeovers

Yes, it’s that time of the year for whimsical Halloween fun!

I found the cute Bunny at a garage sale recently for 50 cents.  I thought the bunny face might work for an idea I saw on Pinterest:

This doll is so wistfull…my thought was to make a whimsical mask for the bunny

A few days later I found the baby chick at an estate sale for 25cents.  The funny thing is they both had the original store sticker on the bottom and they were purchase years earlier at the same drug store in Astoria, Oregon.

I gave up on the mask idea and decided to turn the bottoms into pumpkins with several colors of acrylic paint and some pretty orange extra fine glitter.

I used metallic pipe cleaners to line the neck and make a loop to hang “Trick or Treat”  I made the “OR” separate and attached it to the little chick.

I admit I am half heartedly into Halloween.  I definitely don’t decorate for it, but we do have a big bowlful of candy every year and have fun handing it out to the neighborhood kids.  There isn’t much chance the right person will come into Sunrose Gallery and take this home before October 31st, but it was fun to make and my out of pocket expenses were 75 cents!  A guess that makes it a treat :  )
