What is more summer-y than a sandcastle? With my sandcastle pdf printout you can make one in about 2 hours! You can use Sand you collect at the beach or get a bag of pretty sand at your local craft store.

The sand at my beach is rather dark so I only used it to cover the edges of my sandcastle Clock.
The pdf is at the end of this post, print it out on card stock for the best result. After you cut it out, use the castle as the pattern for some Foam Core that will make a sturdy clock base.
It is easiest to cut foam core with an Exacto knife, but I used a new razor blade because I was out of Exacto knife blades.
Liberally apply white glue and spread evenly with your fingers so all the edges are completely covered and the foam core is all covered. Then place the pdf on top and press the paper down, especially the edges. Apply white glue to the foam core edge and dust with sand so all the edges look “sandy”.
Then apply a THIN layer of white glue in sections and dust with sand. My sand was quite light and covered the details of the sandcastle so when the glue was dry I went over the lines with a felt pen.
Take an awl and poke a hole for the clock face, enlarging the hole with a pencil so it is large enough for clock works you can purchase at most craft stores. Follow the directions to assemble the clock works.
Make little flags with skewers and scrapbook paper and attach on the back side. This little clock measures 8″ x 8″ and would look so adorable in a cozy little beach cottage!
