I am amazed at the variety of things you can make with Washi tape! This time I got out some of my stiff scrapbooking paper and punched out 2 inch circles to cover completely with Washi Tape. I bought some really cute washi tape collections and it is so fun how I can make earrings to match the clothes in my closet!
To make these you will need Mod Podge, a 2″ round paper punch, a supply of complimentary washi tape spools, jewelry findings and beads and some jewelry making tools.
After you punch out the 2″ circle turn it over to the white side and cover with strips of washi tape.
Trim the excess washi tape from the circle and apply a thin layer of Mod Podge over the washi tape and let dry.
After the circles are dry punch a small hole so the jewelry finding can be attached.
Load the head pin with the beads you like and bend the wire so you can make a loop to attach the head pin with the paper circle making sure you bend the wire at a 90 degree angle. TIP: if you bend the wire so the bottom loop of the head pin is going in one direction and the top loop is going in the opposite direction the earring circle will hang straight.
If the head pin is too long, snip off some and use the needle nose pliers to make a loop big enough to attach the paper circle, then open the other end and attach the fish hook earring finding making sure that the earring will hang correctly before closing the loop.
You can go through your piles of washi tape and have a whole new earring wardrobe for pennies an earring. Have Fun!
