We had a short trip to Belgium, down south part, close to Luxembourg and France. As part of the trip we did a few geocaches and collected two new souvernirs. The first Geocache we found was not the easiest one, but after some search it was found.
All the story in short |
Well camouflaged hide |
The logroll still in the hole |
The geocache |
The fence hiding the geocache |
As you can see this small fence was just next to a House, we are always extra careful when searching next to houses, you never know what could happen, angry owner comes and explains this is not a playground, or someone will come out smiling, or some dogs will chase you away. Lucky day for us, no one home or sleeping or just don't care.
Gate to the cemetery |
This geocache was marking the cemetery on the top of this hill. A nice well maintained old cemetery, as we were driving around this area we saw many more of these and after this find we were thinking how many more they could hide in the area. This part of Belgium is not too crowded and we were guessing not too many players.
Isn't it ironic that areas where there could be many many geocaches hidden are usually having only a few local geocachers and many travellers?
The cemetery |
If it was a darker evening and the geocache was hidden in the cemetery it could be one of those let's walk away kind of. Maybe there should be another log option such as walked away, and then in the details we could enter why.
The location was beautiful, even in this rainy weather, all around green hill, many cows eating the grass on slopes, and in general nice and clean neighborhood.
The house behing the fence hiding the geocache |
I was not sure if this is one of those old houses on the hill with that ancient technic as you can see or is it a nicely made fake one, but as the area was full with those old houses this could just be one of them in good condition.
This was really a good start for our geocaching adventure in Belgium and the neighborhooding countries in two day, keep an eye on for the new posts coming soon with other great hides.
Many thanks for the CO for this hide and that (s)he showed a new Hiding technic to me.
