Geocache: On the sign

Another popular hiding technic in many countries is to put a Geocache on a traffic sign or other signs.

See it hiding?
There are usually a petling inside the pole of the sign, but in many cases that would place the container too high for shorter geocachers. This is one of my own hides and I know some of the local geocachers who needs help from their parents to find some of the Geocaches placed higher so I decided to put some to easier reach height.

The nano taken out
Very important to make sure a container placed in its hiding should not be gone easy, this one has a tiny but really strong magnet glued to its side, that holds it so strong that if the last to find it pushed it too far in you might need a stick to push it out from the other end.

Many geocachers do not like finding nano containers, but to be honest in urban areas most to hide feels better about them, I have many of the nanos in place in this area, and as I move out to the bicycle roads in the area I started to increase the size of the containers.

The sign holding the geocache
Before my first visit to this area where I come regularly nowadays, there were close to no geocaches, in this town I did not need fingers to count them so I decided there is nothing to find there might still be some players in town, so let's shake the place up a bit. It all started with three or four, of course nano. Then there was one gone after the FTF, then I replaced and then gone once more, but that time with the object holding it, so I had to move that. And then one day I saw some strange activity at one of the geocaches, so I managed to catch in action two players, I had to walk to them and check, they were still searching, so they asked: Did you find it already? I just responded: Nope, I put it there. They were so happy to see more geocaches showing up in town, that gave the kick, I need to put more out there. These two were father and son, doing regular workouts, cycling and running and there you go for the idea. Let me create place a series of geocaches along places where you can cycle, there are many many of them, so this was one of the first hides along the bicycle route. At time I write this blogpost there are eleven out there, but the trick I do is not placing them one after the other, but one here the other there, that gives my friends the challenge of running or cycling after each geocache at different time, which they enjoy.

I'm about to show more of my own hides as most of the geocachers in the area have found them all already and maybe others find good ideas of where and how to place the caches out there.

This hide is out there over half year, never muggled so far, logroll is dry.

Reason for that sign as the place was simple the distance from the closest already existing geocache.
