Central Alberta Quilt Show 2019

I went on a solo drive to Red Deer this Saturday to take a look at the Central Alberta Quilt Show. I probably shouldn’t have spent money – but I did, and I got a milkshake from Peter’s Drive-In on the way which was also a worthwhile experience

I made a video:

But also I have some stills too. Where I have the information card, I’ve included it below the Quilt.

Amazing embroidery quilt! Into The Wild by Linda Olson (an Anita Goodesign pattern)

This quilt was interesting because of the painting and the plywood 3D elements. Fiesta by Esperanza Aldrich.

I loved the quilting on this one!

My vote for best in show went to Kathleen Riggins

After Kathleen’s quilt, my next favourite was between the wool applique by Pat Frayn, and this mini by Terry Rowland – I really loved the embroidery around the edge and the rounded corners.

If you’ve been wondering what the pegs are attached to the quilts for, it’s so you can turn and look at the back of the quilt without touching it or needing one of the white gloved people to touch it for you. Clever, huh?

I hope that gave you a little peek anyway, I’ll be back next year!
