French Individual Chess Championships – Participants lists

The French Individual Chess Championships 2022 will take place from 13-21 August in the city of Albi. A magnificent city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site will host the 95th edition of the French Individual Chess Championship after three years of pause caused by the pandemic of Covid19.

The Men’s Individual Chess Championship features a very strong line-up with 16 players and an average rating of 2558, with GM Jules Moussard, GM Etienne Bacrot and GM Laurent Fressinet as the top seeds. 16-player Women’s Championship is headlined by IM Almira Skripchenko, IM Pauline Guichard and IM Anastasia Savina. GM Maxime Lagarde and IM Pauline Guichard triumphed the 2019 Championship and this year defend the title of National Champions.
