Going against the Grain

Whenever someone is doing work such as this, as I've said before, it can be very difficult: because you're going against the Grain. This is the way it is anywhere. Whenever there is an establishment with controlling interests, and you're doing something contrary to "their" interests, even if you have the best intentions, you're going against the grain. How much static you can receive as repercussions largely depends on the levels of corruption, in modern democratic societies. The less corruption that exists, the easier it is to exercise your rights, such as freedom of speech.

The reason for this is, most importantly, a lot of people have a "herd mentality." Not to be uppity about it, I just don't have a Herd Mentality. Things get set into motion and people accept what they are used to doing, or what they are told to do, and they do it. Like with business. A lot of the actions business people take are in response to the ways things have been done in the past. That's the reason the car makers lost a lot of their market share back in the 80's

This is evidenced by historical events, time and time again, which I don't care to go into here. This is where corruption needs to be minimized, so people can exercise and live under their rights.
