Temp and Staffing Agencies

Temp Agencies, and probably staffing agencies as well, should be abolished. According to my experience and research, there isn't any reason why people should need to go through a third party in order to find work.

These agencies aren't regulated very much. Why is someone with a seven figure salary paying people $3.60 an hour for one day's work. This is what it can work out to when travel time is factored in. And people wonder why homelessness is a problem. In the case of Temp Agencies in particular, most people only turn to these as a last resort (when they need extra work or are stuck between jobs). There isn't a good reason for any of it.

These agencies often waste a lot of their employees' time and treat them very poorly, are unorganized and cause a lot of stress. Companies hire temporary and seasonal workers. There isn't any reason to go through temp agencies when they can hire people for a couple of days just like the agencies do all the time.

One of the reasons often cited for using the agencies is the difficulty involved with getting rid of unwanted employees. Restaurants do it all the time, it's called cutting hours. Companies probably put a lot off onto the agencies because of the lack of regulation.

Disparity is another issue. When people are stuck on the bottom like this, both the companies and the agencies can see it as a weakness.
