Myriad Madurai Musings Today!

Today was a high-octane day - in every sense of the word - filled with such wonderful memories.
Madurai Kamaraj University broke records today for any many reasons. Almost all the bright stars of literature were present today at Madurai Kamaraj University for the National Level Externship.

We were all accommodated in the same hotel, thanks to our beloved friend Dr. Ramasubbiah, Principal, MTN College, Madurai, whose love and hospitality is unrivalled in its ambit.

After we all had our breakfast this morning, we had a quick photo session, just outside the main entrance to our hotel.

After the snap time, we all went to Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College, where we were introduced to the College Secretary.
Then, we proceeded to the University.
Dr. Dhayalakrishnan had done phenomenal work in organizing the event, with the able support of Dr. Ramasubbiah.
The Vice Chancellor had a special word of appreciation for Dr. Dhayalakrishnan for having been sanctioned this amount for his project.
Dr. Armstrong gave the inaugural address, followed by felicitations done by Dr. Nagaraj, among others.
I was blessed to give the first plenary of the day. Thanks to the galaxy of literary stars adorning the venue today, the APJ Abdul Kalam Auditorium was packed to capacity, with almost 30 students not able to get their seats.

There was tremendous reception from students for the Externship. Around 400 students had turned up for the event. [15 students had turned up for the externship from Pondicherry University, and 30 from Bharathiar University, five from University of Madras, ten from MS University etc.]
Students from as far as West Bengal, Kerala and other parts of the nation too participated in the externship in large numbers.
Such was the huge response to this National-Level Externship organized by the Department of English, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai.
Ms. Anthea Isaac, did an amazing job as MC, which was highly appreciated by everyone. On an added note, Ms. Anthea is an avid blogger and an inspiring vlogger as well. So delighted to know that she is doing her doctoral programme under Subbu Anna!

I was so happy with the genuine bonhomie and camaraderie amongst friends from across the State, who were at their witty best, on and off the dais. 😊
