Canada Express Entry – Q&A with Our Customer from Nova Scotia

Q&A With Mr Shinde On His Canada Express Entry Process And Life In Canada.

Mr. Shinde Can You Tell Us about Yourself and What Motivated You to Move To Canada

I am from Pune originally and I used to work as an IT professional in Pune city. I was interested in moving to Canada as I felt that I would have a better chance for growing in my career in that country. Also the cost of education and health care in India are very high if you are looking for a good school for your kids. So these are the factors that motivated me and my wife to consider settling in Canada.

Was It An Easy Process For You To Move To Canada?

Initially we did face a few hiccups. On the advice of our friends we decided to approach the Canada immigration process by ourselves. We set up a profile and gave our initial details, but while we were deciding on factors like which NOC my career and my wife’s career would fit in best, things got confusing. We decided to approach Global Tree Pune office for guidance. I am very happy that we took that decision as the counsellors there guided us in the right way and advised us to apply for PNP. The counsellors gave us advice on all the provinces in Canada, and helped us to come to a decision with respect to applying for Nova Scotia PNP.

Which City Of Nova Scotia Are You Living In Now? And How Do You Find Life In Canada?

We are living in the city of Halifax. I work as an IT systems architect for a local firm here, while my wife is a teacher at an elementary school. Both our children attend the same school. Life is very relaxed and fulfilling. I am able to spend much more time with my family and stress levels have really gone down. In India one has to travel a lot to reach office in the morning and one has to face a lot of traffic and pollution. Here the commute is very easy and I reach home early, so I can have more time for myself and family. Education is free, so I don’t have to worry about that aspect as well. I am earning more on Canadian dollars and am able to send back money to my parents, which is helping them to live a comfortable life. We are applying for a visitor visa for them through Global Tree and are planning to have them visit us very soon. Overall I will say moving to Canada was the best decision of my life

What Advice Would You Give Anyone Who Is Planning To Immigrate To Canada?

The most important advice I would give is to not delay your application or think that you should wait for a few more years. This is the best time to move to Canada. Canada now is at a point where America was 20 years or even 10 years ago. They are actively looking for skilled foreign immigrants like you and me to tide over their labor shortage. But once the shortage fills up, then they will also start to put in more restrictive policies. It won’t be easy to get in once that happens. For Indian’s especially this is the best time to consider a move to Canada. Also as far as possible rely on expert advice for your visa process. Life is too short to rely on second chances.
