MBA is the most recognized professional program amongst the students in India today. MBA in Mumbai offers great opportunities as Mumbai is the house of many Indian companies and MNCs. An MBA aspirant has to appear for an entrance exam/s to get admission in the top MBA College.
Below are the few Entrance Exams that one needs to crack for getting admission into one of the top MBA colleges in Mumbai:
- AIMA-MAT: It is conducted 4 times a year (February, May, September and December). Paper comprises of 5 sections - Language Comprehension, Mathematical skills, Critical reasoning, Indian & Global Environment and Data Analysis. There are 40 questions for each section. Correct answer carries 1 mark and 0.25 negative marking for every wrong answer.
- MAH-CET: Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is conducted by DTE Maharashtra for admission to post graduate program in MBA. Total duration for the entrance exam is 150 minutes. It has 200 objective type questions. Questions will be from Logical Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability/Reading comprehension. There is no negative marking in the examination.
- CAT: This is the most popular entrance test and is held annually. Each correct answer weighs 3 marks and each wrong answer will deduct 1 mark. However, there is no negative marking for non-MCQs.
- ATMA – ATMA has been approved by HRD of Government of India. There are total of 6 sections having 180 questions from Analytical, Verbal and Logical Reasoning. Total time is of 3 hours and each section has separate time.
- XAT: There are over 140 Management institutes which use XAT scores for selection. Exam is divided into two papers. Paper 1 has only objective type questions. The sections are Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making & Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation. Paper 2 has both subjective and objective type questions. The sections are General Knowledge and Essay writing.
