Pick a good education brand to bag a job with a great corporate brand – Aarya Singh’s mantra to get placed with TATA AIG.

While a MBA degree can open doors to the corporate world for management aspirants, it’s the reputation of the B School that helps them have the perfect start in their careers. Aarya Singh, student of PGDM Batch 2015 – 17 was aware of that, which is why she enrolled with Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies in the first place. The girl from Patna who was pursuing her Chartered Accountancy, completed his PGDM with Finance and Marketing specialization. It has led to a placement with another top brand – Tata Aig. She takes us through the transition in prospects of his promising career.

Acing the placement process              

Aarya informs that the placement process with the reputed name in the Finance world was rigorous. It involved an Aptitude Test, Group Discussion and Final Interview where she was asked Finance and Marketing related questions. Backed by her learning at KIAMS she made the best impression with his confidence. “Right from the beginning of the second year there were mock interviews and group discussions. Our faculty members had created a placement oriented environment that eased the pressure on us and relieved stress,” she narrates.

Industry exposure from the best

One of the advantages of studying with a top brand in management education that has industrial backing is that you get access to professional advice on a regular basis. For Aarya, the insight offered by none other than Mr. S.L. Kirloskar, CEO, Kirloskar Brothers Limited was inspiring. “We got to interact with many industry bigwigs and learn from their experiences. KIAMS organized industry visits, workshops with personalities from India and

abroad. The major International conference was another massive exposure for all of us,” she claims.

A good mix of classroom and practical learning

According to Aarya, the Business Immersion Program, a unique 4 month internship at KIAMS is wonderful way of helping students get a feel of the corporate culture. They understand the practical applications of the classroom lessons, which build a strong foundation. “Our faculty members kept the classrooms adaptable to meet the needs of each student. They would go out of their way to make students lacking in any aspect comfortable, and bring them up to speed. The activity based classroom environment was extremely enriching for everyone,” she adds.

Building on the perfect start

Aarya has been placed with TATA AIG as a management trainee. After completing her month long training program he will take on the role of a Senior Executive and interact with clients, talking about insurance services. It’s a profile up to his liking and she remains intent to use his KIAMS training to shine in his professional career. “I am in a position where I can grow and take on new challenges. Over time I would like to assume more management responsibilities and build a successful career,” she says looking forward to what future holds.
