What they don't ant you to know about smoking and nicotine addiction

Most likely you have heard the term “nicotine addiction” and been told that Cigarette Smoking is addictive.

Well don’t believe it - because if you do then quitting smoking becomes much more difficult.

It’s my opinion that cigarettes are not addicting at all. The report by the Surgeon General report (657 pages) cigarette smoking and nicotine does not once mention that nicotine is physically addicting.

The report states that “we believe”, and suggests, “we feel”, but does not once say “it is”.

Heroin and cocaine are considered to be physically addicting. Give one of these addicts their choice of drug any form and they feel fine.

Give a cigarette smoker nicotine in any other form besides a cigarette and they are not fine. You see in this case the patch would be 100% effective.

Nicotine doesn’t meet the criteria of a physical addiction. Otherwise people would become addicted to nicorette gum and no one has.

You’ve never heard of a baby needing a cigarette have you – but we’ve all hear of crack babies.

Or how can smoking only be addicting from 7 AM to 11 PM? A smoker will sleep through the night unless they wake up to go to the bathroom or get a drink of water, and then only if they stay up long enough they will decide have a cigarette.

Think - If smoking is not physically addicting, then what is it?

It's a habit. That is why a person can have a session with a Hypnotherapist and walk out a non-smoker.

Nicotine gum, the patch, laser, and acupuncture are all under 10% effective. Chantix claims to be up to 25% effective, but has side effects. Once smokers stop taking Chantix, they very often start smoking again.

When quitting smoking through hypnosis clients report that cravings usually go away. Compared to when a person quits cold turkey and years later they may still crave cigarettes.

When quitting smoking through hypnosis, clients report that when out with friends who smoke, they are thinking how wonderful it is to be a non-smoker.

Very often when a smoker quits cold, they usually substitute smoking with food and gain weight. When quitting through hypnosis, clients report that they either maintain or lose weight, unless they were under weight, then they normally put on healthy weight.
