5 early signs you may be prone to a chronic lifestyle disease

Sedentary Lifestyle choices, such as smoking, overuse of alcohol, poor diet, lack of physical activity and inadequate relief of chronic stress are key contributors in the development of chronic lifestyle diseases, including obesity, hyperacidity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, kidney stone, liver disorders etc. Even though medical practitioners encourage healthful behaviors to help prevent or manage many chronic medical conditions, many people are inadequately prepared to either start or maintain these appropriate, healthy changes. Most patients understand the reasoning behind a healthy lifestyle even if they don’t understand the disease processes that can occur when they don’t maintain healthy habits. Despite an understanding of what constitutes a healthy lifestyle, many people lack the behavioral skills they need to apply everyday to sustain these good habits.

So how does a person identify whether he or she is susceptible to a lifestyle disease? These 5 signs listed below will help you identify and nip the conditions in the bud.

  1. You have breakfast too late

As we work passionately towards accomplishing our life goals, we often tend to overlook our health. The motto “health is wealth” has lost purpose in todays world and it is often too late, by the time we realize its value. We need to understand that morning is when our Body requires energy the most, and it is mandatory to have a healthy and filling breakfast. Remember the saying by Adelle Davis – “Eat Breakfast Like a King, Lunch Like a Prince, and Dinner Like a Pauper”, turns out it has more significance than we realize. We understand it can be a little hard to grasp the importance of this at first, so we suggest you try this for a week and notice the difference in your health – get up at 7AM everyday and eat a heavy breakfast by 8AM.

  1. You get headaches/ acidity too often

It is become somewhat of a custom nowadays, instilled by watching it in our favorite movies, that the morning cup of coffee is required to kick start the day. There are at least 500 posts on the internet and over 50 published articles which will tell you how harmful that Morning cup of Joe is. The fact of the matter is coffee causes pH imbalance in body which leads to acidity. And its not just the coffee. There are many such things which can cause pH imbalance. Remember if you feel acidity one too many times a week, or get headaches pretty frequently or you have inconsistent bowel movements you need to keep a lookout on your lifestyle before your body forces you to. These are warning signs that your body is giving to start paying attention to your health.

  1. You sleep too late

Whether it is your job, or love life, or TV, or that last episode of your favorite sitcom, you very well know that staying up late is not healthy. But that’s not an option in todays time because everyone gets free at night only – or it’s the time you unwind, right? Wrong. As much as you think staying up is unwinding, your body is working hard to be up and this has its repercussions in the long term. The more you stay up at night, the later you wish to get up in the morning. Lets say you still manage to wake up and go to work, your body is deprived of Sleep and this is a big problem. Your body needs at least 7 hours of sleep everyday to remain healthy.

  1. More of the daily food you take is towards the night

With health its just like it is with anything else – if one domino goes, so goes the rest. Similarly, if you get up late, have breakfast late, have a late lunch and work till late, its obvious that you will have dinner late too. Ideally dinner should be over by 7:30 PM. But that just seems ridiculous to even hear right? Well let me tell you the reason behind this. We all know, that our digestive system works very slowly when we are sleep. Now, lets assume that we sleep at 11:30PM – which is a decent time, not too early not too late. We need four hours to digest our food. So that means if we finish our dinner by 7:30PM we can easily sleep with our meals digested. This helps in getting sound sleep and helps in reducing of fat deposition in the body. And yes, this does not mean that you have dinner at 10PM and sleep at 2AM, because you have to have breakfast before 8AM. Yes, it’s a viscous cycle that has to be continued – its not so easy to be completely healthy.

  1. Your sleep is inconsistent or disturbed

Yes this sign is the most important and the easiest to identify. Its simple, if you are sleepy after getting up in the morning, not getting sleep at night, or waking up too many times during your sleep, that means something’s up. And you may think right now that this is normal and it only happens occasionally. Yes it does happen occasionally, but its definitely not normal. Although you may feel that your just not sleepy, you have to understand the reason for this inconsistent sleep is mainly your lifestyle. And only once you fix it, and experience deep sleep and the feeling of natural freshness will you truly understand the importance of what I am saying.

The above signs are very early lookouts that you should note to avoid lifestyle diseases, because trust me, this stuff is easier to fix than to fix your body (www.grocare.com/diagnose) once it has the disease.
