Spirulina Nutritional Facts

Giving high quality concentrated nutrition better than any other algae have made it a super strong food – also known as astronaut food.

I’m back sharing some more interesting nutritional facts on the amazing Spirulina, and the benefits DXN Spirulina can bring to your health! According to scientific studies certain food groups are Acidic and some are Alkaline.

Dr. Ragnar Berg, Swedish-born nutritionist and Nobel Prize Winner conducted research on the acid-alkaline ratio and body pH in the diet and was one of the first to realize the importance of an alkaline diet. His findings suggested to restore health the diet should consist of 80% alkaline foods and 20% acidic foods, to build maximum resistance against disease.

Acidic Food is all meat, fish, shrimp, pasta, dried foods, wheat, rice, processed cheese, granola, bread and flour. Alkaline Food is vegetables, fruits, seaweeds, sweet potato, almond milk, quinoa, bee pollen and egg white.

Athletes need extra nutritional support and elements.

Spirulina contains Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA) which is known to give prostaglandins, the principal hormones which regulate cells in the body, including the heart, skin, circulatory and muscular system. The right levels of prostaglandins are required for good health and developing sports performance. This is why many world class athletes use spirulina to help improve their performance and stamina.

“Spirulina is a high quality food, rich in iron, safe for consumption and an extremely nutritional supplement for children.” – World Health Organization, 1992.
