I am  beginning to receive requests to Write guest posts on my blog, and I am humbled and thrilled.  My mission for this blog from the outset has been that it be a safe and loving online space where I can share my story and help to raise awareness about mental illness and addiction.  I also want it to be inclusive, so that other voices can be heard here and other stories, deserving an audience, can be told.  Albert Einstein said this:

“We are here for the sake of other men —above all for those upon whose smile and well-being our own happiness depends, for the countless unknown souls with whose fate we are connected by a bond of sympathy. Many times a day, I realize how much my outer and inner life is built upon the labors of people, both living and dead, and how earnestly I must exert myself in order to give in return as much as I have received and am still receiving.”

It is in that spirit, of shared connection through not only suffering but triumph, of gratitude for personal and social progress made possible by experiential and clinical knowledge, that I want others to have the opportunity to write here as well.

Having said all that, there are a few ground rules I would like to establish going forward.

Firstly, any content needs to be original.  I shared a post sometime ago written by someone who I had personally invited to write for the blog, with the understanding that the content would be new and completely original.  It was not.  I later found the article, in its entirety, on another website, and have since removed it from this blog.

Secondly, if you work for a marketing company and your job is to find ways to post on popular blogs on behalf of the addiction and Recovery Organizations you are employed by, please move along.  The purpose of this blog is to spread information and awareness, and above all comfort and goodwill.  This blog does not exist to help you advertise.   I would welcome and be honoured by the opportunity to partner with recovery organizations, but would like to be contacted directly.

Thank you for your understanding and respect.

In health and with love,

Adele
