Supplements And Aging Problems

The results of a poll carried out by Roper Starch Worldwide showed
that seniors take dietary supplements for the following reasons:

39 per cent to preserve their general wellness
17 per cent to improve energy levels
16 per cent to better their bone health
12 per cent wanted to increase their stamina
11 per cent wanted to ease the pain from arthritis

These figures suggest that supplementation by seniors is helpful but
the daiy dosage of each nutrient must be right for you.

The US Department of Agriculture(USDA)suggest eating 3-5 servings of
vegetables and 2-4 servings of fruit daily to achieve the DV(Daily Value)

The DV is an estimated amount of nutrient a healthy person needs to prevent
signs of deficiency plus a margin to prevent common health problems.

Some scientists believe that to get the required DV that would prevent
signs of deficiency, supplements should be taken.

The quantities of nutrients should be tailored to our individual health
needs by a qualified anti-aging physician.
