5 Questions With Your House Fitness

It’s time for another fantastic interview with a Fitness professional! We recently caught up with Ben Walker, co-owner of Your House Fitness. Your House Fitness is a service which brings the gym to you. Instead of driving back and forth to the gym and waiting in line for equipment, Ben and his team of fitness trainers and healthcare professionals bring the workout right to your door. We asked Ben five questions about his unique and innovative service.

HealthMax Physiotherapy: Please tell us a bit about your unique service

Ben Walker: Your House Fitness has a goal of providing service of a very high standard, one that is better than your nearest gym. All staff are multi certified and possess an academic background in Kinesiology or Fitness and Health Promotion. We cover various in home fitness and health services to meet all the needs of our clients. No memberships are required and you save time by having us come to you! This includes: Yoga, Personal Training, Mat Pilates, Massage Therapy, Holistic Nutrition and more.

HealthMax Physiotherapy: What is the most important aspect when it comes to staying in shape?

Ben Walker: The foundation of working on your health and fitness is good emotional support to begin and a steady plan for maintenance. A very good standard of care from your health professional. Making sure that the plan is followed through from start to finish. Upon completing your goals, it is important for the client to develop that discipline to keep active on a weekly basis, so that they have achieved that lifestyle change.

HealthMax Physiotherapy: Are there any limitations to this service? For example, would you guys visit a studio apartment?

Ben Walker: No, we serve everybody. Your House Fitness services the GTA, Mississauga and Etobicoke. We visit condos, homes and studios. We do one-on-one, group training and classes.

HealthMax Physiotherapy: How do you help your clients achieve these fitness goals? Is there homework involved?

Ben Walker: We make sure that we are available to come to your home from the early morning to late in the evening 7 days a week. We write programs suited to the individual client, whether they are traveling or simply working between sessions at their residence.

HealthMax Physiotherapy: What advice do you have for anyone in the fitness training industry?

Ben Walker: I think the best advice to give is that the industry is ever changing. Making sure you stay aware of what is the most convenient trend of fitness for clients to stay healthy and active is important. New interests come into the industry everyday and meeting what the client wants is always ongoing. It’s a demanding industry where you need to be available in your city at all times.
