The Zen by MONQ Review

So without doubt Betches.com have put their take on the vaping Essential Oils trend that is being marketed by Monq. The word ‘asshole’ is mentioned several times, as what kind of asshole are they trying to market to?

Now the idea here is that MONQ are selling 7 pre-blended portable Essential oil diffusers in a stick (or a vape pen as it’s more commonly called). In the same vein as e-cigarettes you breathe in the essential oil blend which promotes a change in mood, utilizing the practice of aromatherapy.

But to be clear MONQ is not an e-cigarette and contains no nicotine, and they mention on their website that they have the endorsement of Robert Tisserand who is an Essential Oil expert and written a number of books on the topic of essential oils safety.

And yes, while I advocate on this site that ingesting essential oils should not be taken without advice from your doctor or Aromatherapist I decided to look further into their product and purchased one of their diffusers. You see I was intrigued to see if it would help me with my own anxiety, and have never used anything like this product before.

Monq’s website states that they purchase their essential oils from reputable companies like Mountain Rose Herbs and Eden Botanical. I have discussed each of these companies in my other posts.

The 7 types of blended essential oil diffusers are:

Zen MONQ – which contains a blend of frankincense, orange and ylang-ylang, which are all known for their sedative and anti-anxiety properties. This is the most popular diffuser.

Vibrant MONQ is a blend of citrus lemon, ginger, and spearmint for revitalization, boosting attention and concentration.

Sleep MONQ –is a blend of Lavender, Lemongrass and valerian that is used as a sleeping aid; providing a calm sedative to produce a better quality sleep.

Active MONQ – Black pepper, orange, and sage blend provides you with additional energy, detoxifies and enhances performance.

Healthy MONQ is a blend of Cinnamon, Marjoram and Turmeric which eases tension, helps with muscle discomfort, benefits the digestive tract and promotes overall health and wellness.

Happy MONQ is a blend of Fennel, Thyme and Vanilla. It may ease frustration, boost confidence, and improve attention.

Sexy MONQ – Jasmine, lime and patchouli acts as an aphrodisiac and increase in subjective behavioural arousal.

Zen MONQ Review

Firstly I received the diffuser within the stated time. The packaging was easy to open by just flipping off the end of the cylinder that contains the diffuser. It had a sleek design, and was a nice lavender color. At one end is the LED light that lights up when inhaling.

MONQ states that there is a small coil that heats (not burns) the essential oils and wild plant extracts. This is what causes the diffusion that you breathe. Each MONQ blend is 80% soy-based vegetable glycerin 20% essential oils.

Their website states that you need to breathe in through your mouth and exhale through your nose. I have never smoked, so it took a couple of puffs to get used to the idea.

The taste was quite pleasant and it took a few more puffs to start to feel more relaxed and calmer.

The effects did last for a while, and I can see the benefits for people to have the product with them wherever they go, especially if at work or facing other stressful activities.

Smoking Cessation

MONQ diffusers do not contain nicotine and are not an e-cigarette. Whilst I have never smoked I can see that there could be some benefits to help quit smoking. If anyone has used one for this use please let me know.

The Price

MONQ sticks last for 150-200 worth of puffs, and costs $20, so it’s possible each one could last for 2 -4 weeks, but this will depend on the frequency of use. The $20 price can be a bit expensive but it is good quality, and if you find that it can help you then it’s definitely worth the cost.

Guarantee

MONQ states that if you are not satisfied with the product then you can refund or replace it, even after 30 days.

Bear in mind that the product has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

And if you are interested in purchasing one today,  you can now receive 10% off  your entire MONQ purchase with the coupon code: SUSANSCOTT1  when ordering from my links to their site.
