How do you now it’s the right time for dental veneers?

Tags: veneers

Your smile should be very important for you. A healthy smile can help a lot in every field of your life. It is scientifically proven that persons who possess an impeccable smile are more persuasive, have more confidence and integrate themselves in society very easily. An excellent way to improve your smile is to resort to dental Veneers. And as not everyone is a good candidate for tooth whitening procedures, dental veneers are the perfect solution. For example, if you possess tooth-colored fillings or have dental bonding on your front teeth, their colour will not change with bleaching.

Why veneers?

If you have a tooth whitening procedure you will see that some teeth become whiter, some become partially whiter, and some will not change at all. Restorative materials and dental fillings don’t change. Dental veneers are the perfect solution. They are stain resistant, and the porcelain, or resin-based composite they are made of offer you the possibility of improving your smile in a significant way. They consist of covers that are glued on the front part of the teeth and create a perfect cosmetic appearance, in particular for the discolored, chipped and misshapen teeth.

The cost of veneers can vary

There are two types of veneers: composite and porcelain veneers. The price is different for each type of veneer.
Composite veneers are known as the direct veneers. These are coatings that are applied to the tooth/set of teeth in a single dental visit. The cost of this procedure is around $750 per tooth and usually last for 5 to 7 years. After that, the procedure needs to be repeated, and the veneers need to be replaced.

Porcelain veneers are known as the indirect veneers. These are custom made coatings tailored especially to fit your teeth. That is why the procedure requires two dental visits. In the first dental appointment, your teeth will be examined for the fitting of the veneers and in the second the veneers will be put in place. The cost of this procedure is around $2000 per tooth. The good news is that porcelain veneers last for much longer, for 10 to 15 years or even longer.

Don’t forget the essential
If you opt for any of the two types of veneers you need to remember about the oral hygiene. Veneers require an impeccable oral health and a regular oral care. You need to brush and floss at least two times a day and use mouthwash that contains fluoride. The veneers will improve your smile, but you need to take care of them.
