Are you aware of the Indian Wedding traditions? There’s no crime to get Married, but it’ll be better if you take this decision only when you’re ready for it. In Indian society , the concept of getting married is completely different. Some people would want to get married because of society pressure, while few wants to settle down early. If you research well on why Indians get married, you will die laughing on the silly reasons. It’s not the love or the settlement they wish for but the society and surrounding thoughts that matter the most. No offense to the sentiments, but yes, these are some illogical reasons that certainly should not be the answer to a wedding.

Indian society, at times, has become a root cause for many wrong traditions, customs and thinking. Getting married is unfortunately considered to be the Indian wedding traditions. Ultimately, parents and peer pressure for early marriage is one such reason. Besides, when it comes to choosing a partner, there are certain criteria such as the girl needs to be fair while guy needs to be rich. These things turn out to be a burden among the youth, who looks out to find a right partner.

2. Faith on Wrong Things

Even today, many Indian youths blindly believe that all their cultures and traditions are right. Well, it’s not necessary that marriage, just for the sake of it, is right. Grow up, guys! Change your mentality! Your nation is moving towards globalization. And, you’re still clinging on these beliefs? Believing on traditions isn’t bad. But, believing blindly is not only bad, but dangerous as well.  There are many youths, who want to get married just for their parents, without thinking if they’re even ready to give that commitment to their partners.

3. Generation Should be Passed – Indian Wedding Traditions

In Indian society, often people think that forwarding the legacy to the children and their grand children after death is right.  For this, often you will hear from parents that you need to get married soon and on time so that the genes will be passed. This, somehow protects your entire savings not to get wasted in some government trust and eventually gets handed over to your children. Well, this is one reason why Indians get married, and sadly, many people marry because of this reason.

4. Some Relations Come with Expiry

There are times that you see a person and fall in love at first stance and then the question of marriage pops in. Well, this should not be the only reason to get married. Many people fail to think of other aspects like if he/she is the right one or will you really be comfortable to accept the family and status of the partner. Sometimes failing to think on these things leads to separation.

5. Marriage has Got a Huge Expense

Sadly in Indian society simply sharing rings don’t make a couple married. There are quite many rituals, customs and traditions that include a lot of money investment. Parents do feel that their daughter or son should get married soon so that they get relived from the burden of expenses and enjoy the retired life. Dowry was earlier a common practice during marriage. Thankfully, it’s now illegal. Expense is one dominant part of Indian wedding traditions.

Looking at the above silly reasons of Indians getting married. One can easily make out that Indians are obsessed with marriage for the reasons that don’t seem to be justified.  All we can hope from the future generation is to take the right step for marriage in future. The above discussed reasons are the perfect example of how society has a blind trust on certain customs and traditions in a developing nation like India.
