It’s been only the fifth day of the festival, and we already have super exciting news!
On Monday, January 25th, “The Birth of a Nation” made its world premiere, and according to Variety it sparked the most enthusiastic standing ovation on the festival so far. Moreover, the movie already started generating the Oscar Buzz.
“I am so proud of Nate Parker for the courage, integrity, and leadership he has demonstrated throughout the making of this film. The premiere was spectacular. This is only the beginning!” said Dr. Armin Tehrany, who is one of the executive producers of emotionally charged drama.

The festival is currently running in Park City, Utah, where Dr. Tehrany is companioned by his wife Valerie Laury.
“The Birth of a Nation” is already announcing an incredible year for all cast members, especially for Nate Parker. With so many distributors interested in the movie, and with the Oscars currently being under the fire for nominating only white actors for the second consecutive year, this movie is promised a bright future. Maybe even an Oscar!

It is with great pleasure that we share the exciting news about Dr. Armin Tehrany’s debut in the movie industry. Our leading orthopedic surgeon is one of the executive producers of Nate Parker’s new film “The Birth of a Nation”. This masterpiece will make its world premiere at the eminent Sundance Film Festival 2016 which will run January 21 through 31 in Park City, Utah. The movie will be shown at the U.S. Dramatic Competition Program alongside 16 other narrative feature films.
“I have always been an advocate of films that send an important message and help our society grow and improve. “The Birth of a Nation” is a powerful historical drama that appeals to me. It is an important story that I feel should be told. I am immensely happy to have the opportunity to be an executive producer, and I am so proud that it is has been accepted to compete at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival,” says Dr. Armin Tehrany.
As a person who eagerly embraces all the experiences life can offer, it is no wonder that Dr. Tehrany decided to join Nate Parker and the rest of the amazing cast members in producing this inspiring movie.
“The Birth of a Nation” is a historical drama, based on the story of the 1831 slave revolt led by Nat Turner, one of the most successful slave revolts in American history. Nat was a literate slave and preacher, whose financially strained owner, Samuel Turner, accepted an offer to use Nat’s preaching to subdue unruly slaves. After witnessing countless atrocities against fellow slaves, Nat devised a plan to lead his people to freedom.

he famous Hollywood actor Nate Parker takes the lead as the director, screenwriter, and main actor, portraying the main character Nat Turner himself.. Parker stars alongside Armie Hammer, Aja Naomi King, Aunjanue Ellis, Coleman Domingo, Dwight Henry, Roger Guenveur Smith and Gabrielle Union.
The executive producers of the movie are David Goyer, Mike Novogratz, Michael Finley, Tony Parker, Jason Cloth, Jane Oster, Barb Lee, Carl Lindner, Derrick Brooks, Ryan and Jill Ahrens, Armin Tehrany and Mark Moran.
The movie is generating a lot of buzz already. According to the Sundance’s Director John Cooper “The Birth of a Nation” is going to be one of the real conversation pieces of the festival. “Parker creates a very singular piece of history that most people don’t know about and doesn’t shy away from the complicated nature of that,” John Cooper told EW.
