A sustained-release formulation combining bupropion and naltrexone (Contrave) appears to be an Effective treatment for weight loss in obese patients, researchers have found. The drug also brought significant improvements in HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein compared with placebo, but comparable reductions were not found in LDL cholesterol and blood pressure.
