Genital warts treatment with Condylox

Podolofix solution, commercially sold as Condylox, prevents the growth of certain types of cells in the body. There is little evidence, if any, to show how this medication works. This medication is used to treat genital warts that appear on the outer part of your body. Condylox does not cure warts; it helps you treat them.

Important information about Condylox

It is not safe to use Condylox or any other medication that your Doctor has not prescribed. Also, using more Condylox than prescribed will not make it work better. This will only increase the risk of side effects. If this medication goes into your eyes, rinse it properly with water and call your doctor immediately. Do not use Condylox gel or solution in your vagina, urethra or rectum. If at all it gets into these areas, rinse it with warm water.

Always use protection while having sex. Condylox is not a cure for genital warts, neither does it protect you against sexually transmitted diseases (STD). Use proper contraception to prevent transmission of STDs. You can talk to your doctor about safe ways to prevent spread of STDs. Wash your hands with a good quality soap, before and after applying Condylox.

Before using Condylox

Avoid using this Drug if you are allergic to any of its ingredients, especially podofilox. Do not use any type of medication or drug that is not approved by your doctor. This FDA approved drug falls under category C. It is not known if this drug harms the unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant. Do not use this medication even if you are breastfeeding as it may pass into your breast milk and harm the baby.

How should I use Condylox?

Use this drug exactly as your doctor asks you to. Never use it more or less than the amount prescribed. Your doctor will tell you how to use this medication at home. Just keep in mind that using more amount of this drug than prescribed will not make it work better or faster. It will only increase the risk of side effects.

Condylox gel is intended for subcutaneous use and you should not use it near the anus or urethra. There have been cases of certain medications interacting with Condylox. So, if you are taking medications for treating other health conditions, you should discuss it with your doctor. Wash your hands properly before using this medication. Also, wash the affected area and pat it dry before application.

Use the cotton applicator to apply this medication. You can also use it with your finger. If warts have developed within the folds of the skin, spread the skin gently and apply Condylox gel. Allow the skin to dry before you allow it to fold back. Generally, it is applied in the morning for 3 days in a row, followed by 4 days of gap. This makes a 7 day treatment cycle, which needs to be repeated up to 4 times until you totally get rid of warts.
