According to UnitedState study (American Journal of Medicine). Previous research demonstrated the benefit of moms who breast feed their baby for as long as six months or a year. The result suggested that a month of breast feeding has positive , lasting effect. New research conduct recently stated that Mothers who do not breastfeed their newborn for at least a month are likely to develop type 2 diabetes later in life than women who do
The lead author, Dr. Eleanor Schwarz of the University of Pitsburgh told Reuters Health that what they found was surprising, Its pretty dramatic benefits for moms who breastfed as short as a month after the birth of their child.

In type 2 diabetes, the most common form of the disease, either the body odes not produce enough insulin or the cells ignore the insulin that the body needs to turn food into energy. To see how long a new mom needs to breastfeed to reap later benefits to her health, Schwarz and colleagues analysed a large database of patient treated by Kaiser permanent Medical Care programme of Northern California United States.
They compared the incidence of type 2 diabetes in 2,233 women  between the ages of 40 and 78, divided into three groups; those who had children but never breastfed them (703 women) and those who had breastfed (1,125 women).
In view of the above result, All nursing mother are advised to breastfeed their baby for at least  six months, breast feeding is not only good for baby but equally prevent mother from diabetes and other related disease.
