Smart budget grocery shopping infographic

Wednesday Nourishing Graphics: We are happy to share this Infographic that further tells the story about the nourishing value of healthy eating while on a budget. We know that the holidays are a busy time and it can also be an expensive time. We are all looking for ways to cut costs but we don't want to sacrifice buying healthy foods. It starts with that menu. If you plan a weeks worth of menus, you can plan to buy more items in bulk. Bulk is always cheaper than buying small amounts each time you are going to cook. And bring the kids into it because they have preferences and favorites. By involving them, they are more invested in eating the Family Meal when they have had a say in it. Just guide them with a little rules. Every meal should provide foods from each of the food groups. When you go shopping have your Grocery list in hand and start with the produce section. When you compare the nutritional value of food, fruits and vegetables always win. Knowing what you need allows you the time to look at coupons and weekly savings. You can even get the kids to help by either cutting out the coupons or using a mobile app to find the local Grocery Store discounts. Now the final step is of course sticking to your list. Don't let those marketing gurus lure with their attractive packaging and clever descriptions or misleading health claims. You know what you need and stick as closely to that list as you can. Bring the kids to the grocery store to help you. That will ensure that this family meal time is also family time. Kids enjoy helping and feeling that they are contributing. So include them. Here is an infographic that gives you some additional tips for how to be a budget conscious smart shopper at your next trip to the grocery store.
