With the news of veteran actor, Vinod Khanna passing away after battling with cancer, a number of events were cancelled on Thursday. For starting, the world premiere of Bahubali: The Conclusion which was scheduled to take place at an Andheri multiplex was cancelled by Karan Johar.

Karan Johar said that they are deeply saddened by the loss of their beloved, a versatile Actor Vinod Khanna. The demise came as a huge shock for all, read a statement from Karan, SS Rajamouli (director) and the film’s team. Even the press show of the movie was cancelled by the team.

Khanna’s yesteryear co-star, Amitabh Bachchan also walked out of an interview no sooner after he hearing the news of Khanna’s demise to offer his condolences and be by the side of late actor’s family. Moreoevr, all the interviews of Sarkar 3 that also had Yami Gautam as a part of it were cancelled. Even a photo shoot of Mubarakan featuring Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Athiya Shetty and Ileana D’Cruz was cancelled on Thursday morning.

As a mark of respect the producers of Bahubali decided to cancel the Thursday night premiere of the film. 

The 70-year-old actor was fighting cancer for a long time and breathed his last at a Mumbai hospital this morning. He was recently hospitalized after his health deteriorate a lot.

The makers released a joint statement to announce the cancellation. It read, they are deeply saddened by the loss of their beloved, the legendary Vinod Khanna. The demise came as a huge shock to all. As a mark of respect for their dearly departed, the premiere event of Baahubali : The Conclusion is has been cancelled.

The producers previously planned a grand premier for the film. Very much like the movie, the event was also planned with much grandeur. 

K Jo took to Twitter to extend his prayers to the actor's family and fans. Karan tweted, his presence is unparalleled even today, his super star swag is what we grew up on.RIP #VinodKhanna ...thoughts and prayers.

Announcing the news about Khanna’s demise, the hospital stated that the veteran actor and Member of Parliament Mr. Vinod Khanna, who was admitted to the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital breathed his last at 11.20 am due to advanced bladder carcinoma.

People, including Bollywood stars and sports personalities, have extended their condolence towards the grief stricken family of the four-time Member of Parliament, who ruled the box office in the 80's.
