RIP Om Puri....The veteran Actor died on January 6, 2017 due to cardiac arrest. And Crb Tech Reviews brings you all the updates.

Puri is popular for his work on-screen both in Bollywood and Hollywood. He was a student of the National School of Drama and studied theatre along with fellow Hindi actor Naseeruddin Shah.

His most memorable performances include Maachis, Aakrosh, Gupt, Ardh Satya, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Chachi 420 and Malamaal Weekly. He was seen last year in Ghayal Returns. He has also acted in Hollywood movies like Charlie Wilson's War and City of Joy.

Last year, Puri grabbed headlines for all the wrong seasons when he passed an insensitive comment on the Indian army to correct it later.

It came as shocking news today though early reports suggest he suffered a massive heart attack this morning. Bollywood celebrities too have started pouring in their condolences. Karan Johar tweeted, “Solid actor….Solid filmography….immense talent…. #RIPOmPuri ….Hindi cinema has truly lost a brilliant artist….While Anupam Kher tweeted with a heavy heart, “Seeing him lying on his bed looking so calm can’t believe that one of our greatest actors #OmPuri is no more. Deeply saddened & shocked.” 

Veteran actor Om Puri is survived by his ex wife Nandita Puri and son Ishaan. The actor was last seen in Sunny Deol’s Ghayal Returns and also got featured in one of the biggest hit movie of 2016 “The Jungle Book”. Om Puri landed his voice to Bagheera. The actor also marked his Pakistani film debut last year with Actor In Law and was also shooring for Gurinder Chadha’s Viceroy’s House that featured Gillian Anderson. His sudden demise came as a shock to the film industry and the actor’s fans. 

Back in 2016, Om Puri was dragged in a controversy for slamming the Indian soldiers post the Uri attacks after he said, that nobody forced them to join the army. He said that his father was also in the army… Country is proud of them and he threw a question: Do you want India-Pakistan relation to become like that of Palestine and Israel. After a backlash, Puri soon pleaded guilty by issuing a public apology saying, that he’s very embarrassed at what he said and deserved punishment, not forgiveness. He expressed his apologise to the family of an Uri attack martyr, if they forgives him; he said he would apologise to the whole nation and the army. He also said that it’s not justified that you speak rubbish and then express sorry to make things right.
