Cream Cheese Mints

Cream cheese mints are the soft and sweet little mints that you might remember from childhood. It seemed like grandparents always had them displayed in a bowl in their homes. They’re delicious and addicting!

Cream Cheese Mints

I’m fairly sure my grandmother had these at her house. I can remember sneaking them from the bowl, just enough that the missing mints would go unnoticed. They also usually appear at baby showers (due to their cute pastel colors). And they’re a good treat for Easter too!

🛒 Ingredients Needed:

  • cream cheese
  • peppermint extract
  • powdered sugar
  • desired food coloring
  • granulated white sugar

✏️ How to Make Cream Cheese Mints:

*The complete, printable recipe is in the recipe card at the end of this post.

  1. In a large bowl, stir together the cream cheese and peppermint extract. Gradually add the powdered sugar, stirring until the mixture is smooth. You will need to knead in the last of the powdered sugar with your hands. Add food coloring; knead until the food coloring is evenly distributed.
  2. Form the cream cheese mixture into ¾-inch balls, Roll each ball in granulated sugar; place on a waxed paper-lined tray. Flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass or very lightly with the tines of a fork. Cover the mints with paper towels; chill overnight.

➡️ Tips and Substitutions:

  • You don’t have to stick with pastel colors. Try using red and green for Christmas, and pink, red and white for Valentine’s Day!
  • These are a great make-ahead treat!
  • It’s okay to use reduced-fat cream cheese for this recipe.

✔️ How to store Cream Cheese Mints:

Store, tightly covered, in the refrigerator up to 2 weeks or freeze up to 1 month.
