10 Things to Share #54

Hi Friends!

Here’s my weekly post sharing about what’s going on in the world of RecipeGirl, as well as some fun links to things I’ve come across lately. So here it goes: following are 10 things to share with you this week- everything from recipes to shopping to a few fun articles and more. There are a few affiliate links included here and there. Enjoy!

It’s Time to Start Thinking About Halloween!

  • Halloween Deviled Eggs are a creative twist on the traditional deviled egg recipe and are so fun and easy to make!
  • Consider making a really festive Jack O Lantern Sloppy Joe Pie for dinner.
  • Here’s a happy Halloween Snack Board with little Cutie pumpkins, chocolate snacks and fruit and veggies dipped in peanut butter!
  • These swirly Candy Corn Cookies are so fun for Halloween season too. Note: there is no candy corn in these cookies!
  • Here are some creepy (but delicious) Eyeball Truffles for Halloween!
  • Pumpkin Spice Chex Mix is loaded with sweet and spicy coated cereal, pecans, and just the right amount of pumpkin spice flavor for party.
  • Halloween Sangria is a fun recipe to serve at an adult Halloween party.
  • Orange, yellow and white layers give this Candy Corn Cheesecake its festive look.  This is such a fun cheesecake recipe for Halloween with real candy corn garnish.

Fun Shopping Finds:

  • This is the softest, most cozy pullover. I bought it in “sand” but I want to order the light pink too.
  • The blue color on this sweater dress is mesmerizing. (sale!)
  • I’ve been so happy with these alternative (nicer) sneakers. I got the taupe suede in 1/2 size bigger than my usual. (sale!)
  • These pajamas look cuddly and warm for fall/winter weather! (sale!)
  • This slouchy beret (knit cap) is super cute (comes in many colors). (cheap!)
  • I think these pants would be fun with a white sweater. They have some other colors too– as well as a shorter wide leg pant.
  • This top is super cozy, and I will be wearing it all fall/winter. I bought it in “olive.” (good price!)
  • This super comfortable jacket is a must-buy! (sale!)

Instagram accounts to follow:

  • Follow @LilManLife for cute dog content.
  • Follow @TheJoshElkin for some delicious food posts.

What I’m watching and reading:

  • I watched the movie: Reptile on Netflix (Justin Timberlake, Benicio del Toro and Alicia Silverstone). It was okay- worth watching, but not the best movie I’ve seen lately.
  • The wait is over! Walking with Sam by Andrew McCarthy was finally made available to me. I started listening to it on my walks, which is funny because this is a travel memoir by Andrew McCarthy (Brat Pack member) about walking the Camino de Santiago with his son Sam. I am so interested in this book because this walk is something I’ve thought about doing someday.

Fun Recipes I’ve spotted on the internet this week:

  • I love this Copycat Starbucks Lemon Loaf!
  • These Broiled Chicken Thighs are juicy, flavorful, and perfectly crisp skin.
  • Salted Caramel Kentucky Butter Cake is a deliciously moist, melt-in-your-mouth cake soaked in a decadent butter sauce and drizzled with a luscious caramel glaze.

Here’s what’s going on in my life:

  • I’m thinking about getting microblading done on my eyebrows. I’ve had several friends suggest that I do it since I have horrible eyebrows. You can hardly see them, there isn’t much hair there, and they’re uneven. If you’ve done this, please let me know about your experience!
  • We had our last visitors of the season in Oregon this last week- more good friends from Scottsdale! Unfortunately, it was a little chilly, so we didn’t do all of the fun outdoor stuff that we usually do here in Oregon. But we went out to dinner, visited some breweries in Bend and I got to make a nice dinner at home as well.

Catch up on food-related news of the week:

  • New cookbook release: Lil’ Luna’s So Easy & So Yummy: The Ultimate Resource for Feeding Your Friends and Family by Kristin Merkley. I do not have this book yet, but I’ve met Kristin (a fellow blogger), and she is lovely. She has six children!! Here’s a description of the book from Amazon: Need a hand in the kitchen? Lil’ Luna has you covered. From hearty breakfasts to festive apps to mouthwatering main courses, this book helps you navigate everything from meal prep and party planning to last-minute dinner solutions for your family. With more than 200 go-to, no-fail recipes—many ready in thirty minutes or less!—this innovative and approachable cookbook will revolutionize your mealtime routine.
  • M&M’s has a Halloween Rescue Squad that will go to your house for a re-fill if you run out on Halloween!
  • You can order a Cajun Thanksgiving Turkey from Popeyes.
  • Here’s what to drink if you have diabetes.

Products I’m loving:

  • This is the cutest product I’ve seen in a while: it’s a personalized cookie stamp. Check it out– you can use your family’s name and gift to friends, family and neighbors! I’m going to be considering this purchase for sure!
  • If you are planning of gifting some loaves of bread this holiday season, pick up these mini loaf pans and make my Cranberry Orange Bread. Everyone loves it!
  • Look for Starbuck’s Non-Dairy (Almond & Oat Milk) Pumpkin Spice Latte Creamer. YUM!
  • This is the cutest little pretend pizza set for kids or grandkids!
  • If you crochet (or know someone who does), this crochet christmas tree hat is adorable. You can buy the pattern (cheap).
  • Look for Trader Joe’s Autumnal Harvest Creamy Pasta Sauce. It’s made with pumpkin and butternut squash, and it’s so good!
  • Do you have a teen who is having a hard time with getting up in the morning? Here’s an alarm clock that you have to chase to turn off!
  • If you plan to bake a lot of holiday cookies, this 3-tier cooling rack is awesome because it does not take up much space!

Let’s bake some Halloween Treats!

  • Black Cat Cookies are so fun for a kid’s Halloween party. They’re simply chocolate sugar cookies shaped into cat heads and dotted with candy eyes and a nose to create black cats!
  • These Mummy Cookie Pops are the perfect Halloween treat for all ages!
  • Spooky Witch Finger Cookies are my favorite Halloween cookies ever! It happens to be an easy recipe, and everyone loves these spooky treats. They’re so much fun!
