What I’m watching and reading:
- We started watching The Bear on Hulu (2nd season). If you haven’t watched this yet, it’s a good one! It’s about a family in the restaurant business.
- I need a new book recommendation! I have been walking with a friend, so I haven’t been very good about listening to anything lately, but I’m ready to start another one. Please comment below if you have a rec for me!
Fun Recipes I’ve spotted on the internet this week:
- Here’s a delicious Crescent Roll Breakfast Casserole is made with buttery crescent rolls as a crust then layered with cheese, sausage, eggs and any favorite veggies!
- This Tomato, Peach and Burrata Salad is made with tender heirloom tomatoes, juicy peaches, burrata, and drizzled with a hot honey sauce.
- Here’s a silky, flavorful restaurant quality mushroom sauce for steaks made at home in about 15 minutes!
- I like the look of this No Bake Millionaire Pie!
Here’s what’s going on in my life:
- My sister-in-law and two teenage nieces came to visit us in Oregon this last week after their college tour of Oregon. We had great fun taking them kayaking on the river, biking to a waterfall and to the community pool. It sure is nice to get a young person’s perspective on our world these days. We had great talks!
- I’m still walking every morning, but this week I got in a 7-mile walk… which I was very proud about. Walking can be a bit addictive, and it’s a good way to challenge yourself (especially if you have an Apple watch).

Products I’m loving:
- I bought this card table for our home in Oregon (pecan wood with dark green felt). And then I got four chairs to go with it on Facebook Marketplace! We are currently using it as our puzzle table. I love it!
- Some renters of our home ruined our new barstools, so I picked up these barstools and they are wonderful.
- Look for Bulleit already mixed Old Fashioned (cocktails) in your liquor store or market’s liquor section. I love it!
- I bought two of these nightstands (in white) for our guest room, and they were super easy to put together.
- This is the adorable comforter that I bought for our guest room- in Navy.
- There’s a great price on this toaster oven and air fryer combo.
- This retro toaster is the coolest!
- I’m super curious about this vegetable chopper. It has thousands of great reviews!
Bake a sheet cake this week!
- White Texas Sheet Cake is a light and fluffy white cake topped with a sweet, buttery frosting that is loaded with toasted walnuts.
- Take advantage of late summer’s bounty with this Blueberry Zucchini Sheet Cake.
