  • I’ve been seeing this style of jeans a lot in different stores, and I’m trying to decide if I should try them. Thoughts?
  • Cute summer pants!
  • These pants are cute too, and they’d look lovely with this top.
  • Check out the straps on this swimsuit. So adorable!
  • The ruffly sleeves on this top are so cute, and it comes in many colors.

Instagram accounts to follow:

What I’m watching and reading:

  • If you’re looking for something that’s funny (but perhaps a little inappropriate), watch Platonic on Netflix (with Seth Rogan and Rose Byrne).
  • Since we had a long drive from Arizona to Oregon, it was all about the podcasts! We listened to an interview with Carol Burnett on Julia Louis Dreyfus’ podcast: Wiser Than Me. And we kind of bounced around with the true-crime podcasts- nothing super noteworthy.

Fun Recipes I’ve spotted on the internet this week:

  • Blueberry Muffin Bread is a quick bread bursting with juicy blueberries throughout!
  • Ham and Pickle Roll Ups! Ham, cream cheese, and pickles rolled up into a tasty crowd-pleasing appetizer.
  • Jalapeño Popper Burgers: Imagine thick, beefy, meaty burgers topped with a spicy, creamy, cheesy topping – that’s what these hearty burgers are all about!
  • These Oreo Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Bars are an easy cheesecake recipe that everyone goes crazy for.
  • This Fireworks Cake is fun!

Here’s what’s going on in my life:

  • This week was all about setting into our Oregon house- unpacking all of our things and putting summer bedding on the beds. We are looking forward to a summer of grilling and chilling. There will be many cool evenings snuggling on the sofa on our upper deck, and taking in the beauty of the Deschutes River and the deer that come through our property. We went to the local Rodeo a couple of nights ago- so much fun!
  • My husband and I celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary yesterday! Still as happy as the day we met. We didn’t do anything special- just went on a long bike ride in the morning and went out to lunch and furniture shopping. Then we went to listen to a local band at a summer music series.

Catch up on food-related news of the week:

  • New cookbook release >> Simply Tomato: 100 Recipes for Enjoying Your Favorite Ingredient All Year Long by Martha Holmberg: from Amazon- Americans eat more tomatoes than any vegetable except for the potato. But what do we do with all those tomatoes? Acclaimed chef, cooking teacher, and author Martha Holmberg shares 100 recipes to turn the tomato into glorious dishes. Whether it’s a fresh-off-the-vine tomato or a just-picked-from-the-supermarket-shelf tomato, Holmberg has ideas to make the best of our favorite summer fruit. There are three versions of gazpacho, five ways to top roasted tomato puff pastry, plus Tomato and Zucchini Gratin, Classic Panzanella, Tomato Risotto, and Stuffed Tomatoes with Spiced Beef Piccadillo. With more tomato varieties in existence than ever before, Holmberg explains which tomatoes work best with which recipes: choose a beefsteak to roast with fish or pick cherry tomatoes to toss with corn in a quick summer salad. Holmberg also reveals her secret, umami-packed ingredient—tomato water. She calls it a “magical elixir” that can add intense tomato flavor to most anything you make.
  • Häagen-Dazs for breakfast! The ice cream brand is coming to the yogurt aisle
  • Is Greek Yogurt or Regular Yogurt Healthier for You?
  • Celebrate The Fourth With A Free Doughnut At Krispy Kreme

Products I’m loving:

  • If you want to invest in an ice cream machine this summer (which I highly recommend), this ice cream machine is my favorite one!
  • It might seem strange that I have a favorite ice cream scoop, but I do. It works perfectly in getting out nice, clean scoops!
  • Look for S’Mores Ice Cream at Trader Joe’s. YUM.
  • Try heating up the best butterscotch sauce ever to serve over a warmed brownie with vanilla ice cream. You’ll thank me later.
  • We use these bowls for ice cream, but they end up getting used for everything else too.
  • Here’s an ice cream baby bib. Cute!
  • Have you tried the Keto Sea Salt Caramel Crunch Bars? I don’t do Keto, but I do think these are pretty fabulous for a 140 calorie sweet treat.
  • These are some nice ice cream containers to use if you make homemade ice cream.
  • I think everyone should have their very own ice cream spoon.

Bake a quiche this week!

  • My Vegetable Quiche is packed with plenty of vegetables and Swiss cheese too!
  • This recipe for Asparagus Quiche turns out perfect and pretty every time. It’s perfect for breakfast or brunch or a special occasion.
  • This Swiss and Cheddar Cheese Quiche recipe is a great choice for a light dinner or lunch. It’s also a lovely choice for breakfast or brunch.

Next Week’s Recipes:
