10 Things to Share #27

Hi Friends!

Here’s my weekly post sharing about what’s going on in the world of RecipeGirl, as well as some fun links to things I’ve come across lately. So here it goes: following are 10 things to share with you this week- everything from recipes to shopping to a few fun articles and more. There are a few affiliate links included here and there. Enjoy!

Let’s bake a bundt cake!

  • This Funfetti Bundt Cake is covered in white chocolate glaze and plenty of rainbow sprinkles.
  • Classic Banana Bundt Cake is truly the best banana cake, and it’s topped with cream cheese frosting.
  • This Snickerdoodle Bundt Cake is a light and delicious cake with plenty of cinnamon and sugar swirled in.
  • This tender and wonderful Apple Bundt Cake is topped with a delicious cream cheese frosting.
  • Here’s a delicious, bright and cheery cake for you > Raspberry Lemonade Bundt Cake.

Fun Shopping Finds:

  • My favorite pants of the summer are going to be these cute patterned pants I bought at Anthropologie. I bought them in sand and bright red, and they fit pretty true to size.
  • I went shopping at Athleta the other day, and I found some great pants for travel. I had to size down a couple of sizes on this pant. They’re super light and comfortable.
  • I LOVE this Victorian Lace Blouse from Anthropologie. My husband told me that I should have bought it (in pink), so I’m still thinking about it.
  • This maxi dress/beach cover-up is super cute on (and cheap!) I bought the turquoise color, but the green is super pretty too.
  • How fun are these sandals in the summer sand color?!?!?! I’m obsessed.

Instagram accounts to follow:

  • Follow @foodintheair for delicious food held up in the air!
  • Follow @barstoolsports for funny sports-related content.

What I’m watching and reading:

  • We finally started watching the latest season of Ted Lasso on Apple+. I love it so much!
  • I have Romantic Comedy by Curtis Sittenfeld placed on hold on my Libby App. It’s going to be a long time before it’s delivered, since it’s a new book. My sister Susie the book blogger told me she loved that book so much that I should just buy it and read it! I’m considering.

Fun Recipes I’ve spotted on the internet this week:

  • These Blueberry Swirl Cinnamon Rolls look pretty amazing!!
  • Ham and Cheese Pinwheels are always a crowd favorite with layers of black forest Ham, Swiss cheese rolled up in buttery crescent rolls then topped with a sensational dijon glaze!
  • Salted Caramel Chocolate Fudge Cake – four layers of moist chocolate fudge cake filled with salted caramel swiss meringue buttercream, topped with whipped chocolate ganache and a liberal dose of salted caramel.

Here’s what’s going on in my life:

  • We went to the movies! We saw Air (Ben Affleck and Matt Damon). It’s the story of how Nike ended up partnering with Michael Jordan. My husband liked the movie a lot more than I did. It was good, but I felt like it was a little slow at times.
  • I’ve lost 20 pounds in the last ten weeks. No one has noticed. Literally, not one single person in my life has said, “Wow, you look great!” Except my husband, of course. It’s so strange.

Catch up on food-related news of the week:

  • New cookbook release > The New Weight Watchers Diet Cookbook 2023: The Essential Cookbook for Anyone Following the Weight Watchers Program or Seeking a Healthier Lifestyle by Emma Martin. This book features a wide variety of recipes, from breakfast to dinner, and everything in between. You’ll find recipes for classic favorites like pancakes and pizza, as well as new and exciting dishes to try, such as quinoa bowls and roasted vegetable salads. Each recipe includes PersonalPoints values, making it easy for you to track your daily intake.
  • Here are the 50 Best Products to buy at Trader Joe’s this year!
  • There’s a new pickle-flavored Ranch dressing!
  • Heinz is selling new spicy ketchup flavors.

Products I’m loving:

  • Have you ever tried these Travel Compression Bags? I’m a big fan of not checking a bag. So I’ve ordered these to see if they help with smashing everything into a roll-on bag!
  • This melamine serving platter is super cute for summer.
  • Look for Goodles (Here comes Truffle flavor) at Target, Whole Foods, Albertsons or Safeway. This “better for you” mac and cheese includes real ground black truffles.
  • I love this measurement conversion chart that you can attach to the inside of a cupboard in your kitchen. Handy!
  • If you have a wedding coming up in your life, consider this idea for a guest book alternative. So cute.
  • Look for Strawberries and Cream Gelato at Trader Joe’s. YUM!
  • Another Mother’s Day gift idea >> Hey, 2nd born kids… here’s a cute mug for Mother’s Day!

Bake something different this week!

  • Bake some Chocolate Baklava! Layers and layers of phyllo dough are piled into a pan with walnuts, butter, chocolate chips and cinnamon. A fabulous honey- citrus syrup is drizzled on top. It’s light and flaky, and crisp.
  • Peanut Butter S’Mores Turnovers are a delicious combination of chocolate, peanut butter and marshmallow in a flaky puff pastry.
  • Classic Tiramisu Italiano has layers of espresso-soaked ladyfingers with sweet mascarpone cream and a dusting of chocolate. It’s wonderful to have as a sweet bite after eating some Italian food!

Next Week’s Recipes:

  • On RecipeGirl: Chicken Fajitas, Butterfinger Blondies and Blueberry Zucchini Bread
  • On RecipeBoy: Peanut Butter Pie
  • On RecipesForHolidays: Wild Mushroom Soup for Day of the Mushroom!

Have a wonderful week!
