Easy Fall Breakfast

It’s a little tough these days to do the grocery shopping and see the grand total at the register. My go-to store more often than not in this economy is Walmart. I love their everyday low prices, they have high quality private brands to choose from and they have an excellent online grocery service for pickup or delivery. So for all my fall baking supplies this year, Walmart is my store!

My family wanted me to make my very popular Pumpkin French Toast last weekend, so I went online and ordered all of the ingredients to be picked up at my local Walmart.

On Walmart.com, I was delighted to find that I could order everything I needed online. I just searched for what I needed, added it to my cart, and placed my online order to be picked up. At the store, I drove up to a special parking place reserved for pickup, called the number on the sign, and my personal shopper brought my order directly to my car!

Ingredients needed for making Pumpkin French Toast:

  • eggs
  • canned pumpkin purée
  • granulated sugar
  • pumpkin pie spice
  • half and half
  • Texas toast
  • Cinnamon Crunch cereal

The cool thing about shopping at Walmart is that they carry high quality private brands at low prices. You don’t feel like you’re trading down or anything like that. They have many keto, vegan and organic products too. I use a ton of pumpkin purée during the fall season to make my very popular recipe for pumpkin bread. So this 100% pure pumpkin will be on my grocery list every week!

My husband is obsessed with this Cinnamon Crunch cereal. It’s awesome eaten as cereal with milk, in handfuls for snacking and crushed up into crumbs as a delicious coating for french toast!

How to make Pumpkin French Toast:

The complete, printable recipe for Pumpkin French toast can be found here.

Grab your favorite griddle.

Combine 2 eggs, 1/2 cup half and half, 1 tablespoon sugar, 1/4 cup pumpkin purée and 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice in one bowl. Crush up 2 cups Cinnamon Crunch cereal and place it in another bowl.

Dip your Texas toast in the pumpkin custard, and then dip it into the cereal crumbs. Then place it on the griddle to cook.

Flip the Pumpkin French Toast when it’s crispy on one side.

Walmart has quite a few private label brands of syrup. I used this butter flavored syrup to top our pumpkin french toast, but they also have pure maple syrup, maple bourbon syrup and sugar free syrup!

Make some of my Pumpkin French Toast for your family this fall season. It’s tender, flavorful and delicious. And it’s amazing topped with warm syrup. Enjoy!

Dare to compare Walmart’s private brands with others, and place a Walmart order to try it out! New customers can use promo code TRIPLE10 to save $10 off their first three pickup or delivery orders ($50 minimum order).
