How do we find the nourishment we need to tackle the challenges associated with a chronic or life-threatening illness?  Where do we find inspiration or encouragement in these challenging times?  What is it we find soulful as we contemplate our mortality or wrestle with our shattered assumptions of the life, we thought we’re supposed to live?

It makes me think back to when I was in grammar school.  Early on we were learning about the world Explorers. Remember the explorers looking for the “fountain of youth?”  Amazing how people believed the secret to immortality was in this fountain.  They were looking for the source of a long life.

We go to “the source” when looking for answers.  It’s interesting to think about ChatGPT.  It makes decisions based on all the information it has collected.  What if people started going to ChatGPT for answers to their health problems.  What we know now is it doesn’t have enough information to make good decisions.

What do you consider to be the “source”?  What are you hoping to find when you find the “source”?  I know I’m looking for information so I can make good decisions.  I’m looking for solace from providers, so I feel I am understood.  I’m looking for compassion so when I’m having a bad day, I can get comforted.

Don’t stop searching for “the source”!
