You see, until March 2020, Clare had pursued a busy career as a headline flutist performing worldwide. Yet then, the pandemic created a new world order, and Clare found herself drawn to pick up a pencil and paper and sketch. Odd, yes, but expression has a crazy way of showing up. She committed to doing one hundred sketches in one hundred days, and suddenly the sketches seemed to ask for VOICES. Clare complied. With a rich knowledge of breath, line, and the mystery of music and memory at her fingertips, Clare met the moment of a global pandemic with the innocence of a child and the wisdom of a woman who has seen the world. What emerged is a delightful book entitled “Simply Be More – Time preserved wisdom through fresh eyes.” It is a collection of beautiful, inspiring, and soothing sketches using animals and nature to illustrate treasured wisdom. About 73 000 years ago, human artists began experimenting with drawings. Sixty thousand thousand years ago, the first flutes were made from animal bones and captured the music of the winds. In 2023, Clare brings musical lines to the page, and the voices of animals and nature freely sing and guide us back to a joyful place. Life isn’t determined by where we have come from. It is where we are going that is important. We are awakening the essence. May we simply Be More. About the author: Clare Langan is an international flutist who has taken her communication skills as a performer to diverse audiences worldwide. She has pursued her passion for music her entire life but had an incessant calling to write a book.
