With drought persisting throughout parts of Australia, and many pool owners now feeling the pinch of rising water rates, it’s never been so important for our customers to conserve water – particularly when it comes to their pools. 

Customers in South Australia, Queensland and the Northern Territory have this year faced severe rainfall deficiencies, while parts of Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia have seen below average rainfall. For most pool owners this has meant facing harsh water restrictions which make it difficult to maintain the water level of their pool. 

Additionally, Central Coast Council (CCC) recently announced that their water customers will soon start paying more for their water. The decision came off the back of a proposal from the council to increase the cost of water services in 2022-23 to help pay for the cost of maintaining the water infrastructure and should help the CCC to improve water quality for its customers. Following a review by IPART, it was determined that typical residential customers would see a 17% increase to their bills in the first year and additional increases for the next three years after that. With much of the infrastructure ageing throughout Australia many Australians are likely to experience similar increases in the coming years.
