Top Skateboarding Tricks to Try Out

Skateboarding is a thriller affair if you know a few tricks to go with it. It is all about practice, a fact that most skaters swear to. It takes practice for a novice to become a pro in anything they set their mind. Practicing is not only crucial for your performance but also your safety; otherwise, you may end up injured.

It is possible to pull that professional trick you saw a few days ago and end up excellent at it only with practice. There are different types of skateboard tricks with varying levels of difficulty that every novice can learn to master the art. But you have to learn one skateboard tip at a time to perfect your skill. Some of these tricks may take a while to master, while some are easy to grasp. If you are a beginner, there are several tricks that you can learn.

Kick-flip Trick

The most basic of all the tricks is the kick-flip, and any beginner in the skateboarding world can excel in it after a few trials. To perform this trick, lean back on the board and lift the wheels of the skateboard off the ground to 180 degrees, then giving is an accurate and quick turn before landing back on the ground. Try this as many times as you can on the ground before testing your skills on a ramp using the same method. Kick-flip is a straight forward skill that opens room for more complicated skills.

Ollie Trick

The ultimate sign that you have finally grasped skateboarding is when you learn to do the ollie trick. It is one of the first complicated tricks most people learn. To do this, jump and lift the skateboard off the ground with your Knees Bent, ensuring the tail of the board is off the ground first and get back down still with knees bent so that your knees absorb the landing weight. Repeat this gradually, starting with small jumps before going on to higher and longer hikes. Right timing and accurate foot placements primarily when landing will ensure you master the trick.

Nollie Trick

Once you master ollie, nollie trick will be a walk in the park because it is the reverse of the ollie. Unlike ollie, where you jump and leave the board on the ground, nollie requires you to climb together with the board, level it while mid-air, and land on it tactfully. To do this, place one foot in the middle of the board and the other foot on the nose. Raise the nose off the ground as you jump, level it in the air, and land on it with knees bent for proper balance.

Heel Flip Trick

Heelflip in advance version of kickflip as it involves a 360-degree turn. Raise the nose of the board and jump. While still mid-air, flick the board with your back heel and make a quick 360-degree turn while holding the board with both feet as you land. Again, land with your knees bent to make it easy for your body to manage the landing shock and avoid injury.

Wall-ride Trick

Wallride is one of the most complicated tricks of skateboarding and usually performed by those with advanced skills in this sport. To wall ride, place each foot on both ends of your skateboard and raise the nose of the board as you come closer to a wall and jump onto the wall before you start riding it up and down the wall in a rainbow arc movement. When you decide to slide down from the wall, raise the nose of the board to help you slide down easily. This is a complicated trick that is most common among expert skateboarders.

Pop Shove-it 360 Trick

To perform this trick, slightly raise your front foot and scoop the tail of the board with your back foot, spinning the board to 180 degrees while in the air before landing back on the ground and skating away. It would be best if you were accurate with your timing and careful on your landing with this trick; otherwise, you may over spin the board, and it may result in injury.

Skateboarding is an extreme sport that brings joy and gratification to every skater. The tricks seem exciting to perform, but always ensure your safety before trying any of them out. If you are a novice, start with the essential skills before moving on to the more complex ones.
