Thoughtful Thursday – February 25th

This week is all about roadmaps – updates on what BoJo’s chat last Monday means, Michael continues his roadmap of your spine, Craig and Luke guide us through a first appointment, and we direct you towards our favourite ‘real’ carb suppliers.

Clinic Updates
Interestingly enough, we don’t have much to change based on Monday’s announcements. We are really pleased that for those of you who have been struggling, we at least have something to point towards now.

Suspect we might encounter some speedbumps along the way but pleasing to hear we may be headed in the right direction at least!

Podcast of the Week
This week’s Chiro.London Pod, proudly fuelled by Ground Coffee Society, is a great one for anyone who’s looking to come in and see us for the first time.

Craig and Luke B talk us through the “New client journey” – a 15-minute chat on what to expect from the very moment you pick up the phone to book an initial consultation, to what happens during the appointment, through to aftercare. It’s a good episode to share with any friends or family members you might have who are interested in coming to see us but want a little more info.

As always, you can have a listen on our website, or on Spotify, Apple and Google, too.

Vertebra of the Week
Last week we finished the tour of our cervical (neck) vertebrae, so this week we’re changing things up a bit. Michael’s made us a cool video overview with a rundown of what we’ve learned so far, and a glimpse of what’s up next for our spinal series. Check it out here.

And yes, of course there’s a comp! First one to email me with what Michael explains about what the bottom of your neck controls AND is following us on social media (Instagram or Facebook) will score an adjustment on me!

Shameless Plug of the Week
Did you know it’s Real Bread Week? And what exactly constitutes “real bread”? The Real Bread Campaign describes it as being “made with simple, natural ingredients and NO artificial additives”. The aim of Real Bread Week is to encourage us to buy good, simple, natural bread from local, independent bakeries, or even try making it yourself. So we’ve rounded up our Putney favourites and even have a little tutorial for those wishing to give homebaking a crack…

The Bakehouse Putney is back from a break and cooking up a range of delicious, natural breads, including a 100% seeded rye – it doesn’t get much more ‘real’ than that!

While Bonjour Putney are known for their French pastries (which are truly excellent btw), they also bake a selection of sourdoughs and classic loaves daily.

Wandsworth’s Lockdown Bakehouse has garnered a bit of a cult following for its authentic Aussie treats, but they also do a cracking organic sourdough and seeded brioche buns.

If you’re staying in or isolating, South West Frequency will deliver their artisan breads to your door. Otherwise you can find their market stall outside St Mary’s Church every Wednesday and Saturday.

And if you’d like a simple recipe for a classic white loaf that’s so easy even the kids can help, check out this IGTV tutorial from Chestnut Bakery – Kevan’s bread knowledge is second-to-none.

Look after yourselves and enjoy the carbs!
