What’s your secret Food vice?

Tostitos and Salsa. There is something so satisfying about the kick of spice and hit of carbs.

What is your number one comfort food?

Cheese. I am always in the mood for cheese!

What is your biggest food challenge?

Ensuring I eat a Healthy lunch. I am always on the go and so eating healthy can be hard.

What keeps you eating a balanced diet?

My children. Their healthy meals are always a priority for me and so as a result I am forced to eat healthy too.

Any food dislikes?

Parsley and ginger.

Any foods you have omitted from your diet?

I try to cut back on my consumption of bread but it’s hard.

What must you always have in your fridge?

Eggs. I have eggs for breakfast almost every day.

What are some of your go to meals?

Chicken fajitas and my quinoa Greek salad when my husband lets me cook. He’s the real chef in the family.

Most exotic food you’ve ever tried?

Live oysters (maybe they were clams) when I lived in the south of Spain. They would squirm in their shell in your hand until you squeezed the lemon on them and swallowed them whole.

What was one of your favourite foods as a child?


What is your favourite meal to make for guests in your home?

My husband usually cooks a fabulous seared ahi tuna steak with his signature sesame glaze.

Do you have a desert-island ingredient you can’t live without?

It would be cheese again!

What are some of your favourite healthy snacks?

Carrots or other vegetables with a variety of hummus.

Dinner with anyone past or present—who and why?

Anthony Bourdain! His passion for food is inspirational and I think it would be fun hearing all of his travel stories from around the world.

What have you been busy with over the last year?

I recently expanded my family and we had a second child this past year. It’s been busy balancing work and family life now being a mom of two while also expanding and running my own design-based business.

What’s next for you?

I am focused on further growing my Toronto design business and expanding our services to include more customized furnishings.
