Made with a perfect blend of nylon and spandex with elastane and microfiber, this body shaper tank top is quite elastic. However, it isn’t as durable as some of the other pieces of shapewear on our guide even though we did like how breathable and comfortable it was.
Wearing these kinds of garments to the gym is often an issue because there’s seemingly no airflow going on, but this one is wonderful for working out, designed for breathability.

There are countless other products out there that from first glance look exactly the same as this model, but just don’t pull through when it comes to results.
This slimmer actually smooths out bumps and bulges, and helps define to give you an hourglass figure.

As it’s a strapless body shaper you can pretty much wear it with whatever you’d like. That’s not to saw it’s flawless, though. While we wouldn’t necessarily say it’s an issue, the silicon elastic waistband could be a bit more effective in preventing it from rolling down.
In addition, for those with longer torsos, it didn’t provide coverage the way we would’ve liked to have seen. Aside from that, we were quite pleased with the results we saw.

If you want to minimize and smooth anything and everything you can? Just opt for a full body shaper. However, if you just have a certain area in mind, the smaller shapers are often more comfortable and feel less restrictive.
In addition, full body shapers can sometimes be a hassle to get in and out of, especially if you’re wearing them for long periods of time. Will you be wearing it with a dress, or a t-shirt and jeans? If you’re going with a dress or a low-cut neckline, make sure to choose something that isn’t going to appear over the top.
Color
It doesn’t matter if the whole world sees it or if it’s only us – color matters. Have you ever bought a pair of underwear with a cute pattern, knowing no one but you is going to see them?
It still made you feel happy, right? That’s exactly the case here. Even if you just plan on wearing your slim shaper under your clothes, color matters. Although, it matters more if you’re wearing a light piece of clothing, as you could potentially see the body shaper underneath if it’s a dark or neon color.
If you’re having trouble deciding, picking a nude color or the shade closest to your skin is always a good way to go.
Material
The ideal fabric would be durable, soft, breathable, and holds everything in just the way we want it to. However, we rarely find fabric that can provide us with all of that at once.
You may have to select which of those you’re willing to sacrifice, and which are the most important to you. We recommend going with efficacy and comfort over all.
If it’s uncomfortable you’re not going to feel inclined to wear it. If it doesn’t work, same thing. If it doesn’t last long, well, you’ll probably just buy another.
Ultimately, the decision is up to you and your preferences. Perhaps you don’t care so much about comfort as you do durability and the “power” of the fabric.
That’s perfectly fine, too. Once you go up in price, you’ll find that there are pieces that will have everything you want and more. In fact, they may just last long enough that they end up being cheaper per wear than those with smaller price tags!
Price
The truth is, if you want a really quality piece of shape wear that is going to be a staple in your wardrobe, splurging a bit is often necessary. Of course, when we say “splurging”, we’re still only talking about maybe $20 or $30 more.
Generally speaking, when it comes to this world, the cheapest ones simply aren’t worth purchasing. The material can be scratchy and irritating, the bones of the piece may poke you, and they may roll up and down with reckless abandon.
However, there are a few that are on the less-expensive side of the spectrum that really are made with a quality design, and are actually effective. We have a couple of the exceptions reviewed up above!
Smoothing
Just because a product calls itself a piece of shapewear, doesn’t mean it’s going to be completely invisible underneath your clothing.
While the ones on our list are seamless and “barely there”, make sure you’re purchasing slimwear that isn’t going to make bulging more noticeable.
This is why we spent so much time researching, as so many out there claim to be seamless but can actually have the opposite effect.

Q: Which size should I select?
They’re generally true-to-size. There’s a common misconception that selecting a size smaller will help give you “extra” shaping. This isn’t true. In fact, all it’s going to do is cause more bulging and discomfort.
Q: What about if I’m in-between sizes?
In this case, it’s best to take your measurements and compare them with the measurements the manufacturer has listed. In any case, we always recommend against sizing down, for the same reasons we just mentioned.
Q: Will they be visible under my regular clothes?
They can be, depending on the color of the clothes you’re wearing, the style, and the color of the body shaper.
Q: Will they roll down or slide up?
If they’re a full body shaper, nope. However, if it’s a style that comes to your torso, it could. If the style has bones to prevent this, obviously this won’t be an issue. There are some that only have a little strap to prevent them from moving, but these aren’t often very reliable.
Q: Does height have an effect on how the shaper works?
Actually, it can! This is more common with tummy shapers that are strapless or shaping panties that may come just over the stomach. If you have a long torso, you may find that they don’t come up as high as you need them to. Again, it’s never a bad idea to take measurements.
