Ginger Seared Sirloin Steak Salad
This recipe should be a mainstay for a lunch or dinner option for you and your family.
For the Steak:
- 2 (6 oz.) Sirloin Steak
- 1 tbsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 tsp. Ground Ginger
- 2 tbsp. Soy Sauce
- Salt and Cracked Black Pepper (to taste)
For the Salad:
- 2 tbsp. Scallions (chopped)
- 1 c. Broccoli Florets (cut into fork ready pieces)
- 1 c. English Cucumber (cliced into fork ready pieces)
- 1 c. Green Bell Pepper (sliced into fork ready pieces)
- 4 c. Spring Mix
- 1 c. Red Onion (Sliced into fork ready pieces)
For the Dressing:
- 1 Avocado (seed Removed)
- Juice of one Lime
- ¼ c. Mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp. Sesame Seeds (toasted)
- Salt and Cracked Black Pepper (to taste)
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Combine all ingredients for the salad in a mixing bowl and prepare your dressing.
- In a blender or food processor, puree the avocado and the lime juice first, then add the mayonnaise and blend until fully incorporated. Stir in the sesame seeds and seasoning and add to the salad.
- Season steak with extra virgin olive oil, ginger, soy sauce, salt and pepper. Cook to your desired temperature, allow to rest for 5 minutes. Slice on an angle and top your salad.
Tip: Avocado makes for a great alternative for Creamy Salad Dressings and Sauces; this recipe uses less mayonnaise because of the addition of the avocado
