My tips for HEALTHY breast enlargement and recovery

Tags:

When I had mine first breast enlargement I never thought I would share this with thousands of people. It was a personal decision that I made for me and myself alone.

12 years later, I felt it was important to share my experience, even if it was only helps a girl who is thinking about surgery for ANY reason.

Since I started using SPF, I’ve made it my mission to always be there 100% transparent with you all, and when it came time for me to do them again, I knew I wanted to share it, so here goes…

What happened…

When I first had surgery 12 years ago, it was very torn and dry.

I met the surgeon, we made an appointment, I showed up, got boobs, and that was it.

There was no conversation about my health, lifestyle, diet, or anything else that could (and did) affect the course of my surgery.

But to be fair, I wasn’t that worried about these things back then. I just wish I had known how important they were!

I ended up overdoing my training too soon after surgery and, in short, had to undergo a second surgery a year later. Not fun, but it helped and I’ve been (pretty) happy with the results since then.

However, it is recommended to change implants every 10-15 years and after having a child I felt it was time. My breasts were even larger and more uncomfortable and I thought it would be best to be proactive and just take care of it.

Find the right doctor…

This time I knew better, I knew I wanted to find a surgeon who cared about more than just my breasts. I wanted to find someone who prioritized my overall health and truly understood what I was looking for.

I followed Barrett I had been on Instagram for years and knew his approach was completely different. When it came to finding a new doctor, he was my first choice.

After my first consultation, I honestly felt like he wasn’t just a surgeon; He would be a partner in my journey.

Dr. Barrett and his team took a very holistic approach. They emphasized the importance of comprehensive preparation and recovery plans that include everything from nutrition to supplements to training.

Even though I was still a little nervous, he gave me complete confidence that it would be a great experience – and it was!

My preparation before and after the operation

1. Nourish my body

Understanding the critical role of nutrition in recovery made all the difference. I increased my protein intake, ate lots of vegetables and things like bone broth, and followed his supplement recommendations every day. I also didn’t drink alcohol for 2 weeks before and after the operation.

Dr. Barrett’s guidance reinforced the idea that what we put into our bodies significantly influences the outcome, and it did.

My supplement range

  1. Arnica+: to reduce bruising
  2. Before: The all-in-one formula is the ultimate tool to prepare your body for surgery
  3. After:OOptimize your postoperative healing
  4. Biome breakthrough: Repair the intestinal lining
  5. Wingwoman: Strengthen your immune system
  6. Plant protein: Support muscle regeneration + reduce muscle atrophy
  7. Natural beauty: Heal and repair skin, rebuild collagen + support regeneration

2. Fish oil to reduce inflammation

A MOST IMPORTANT addition I added after surgery was Fish oil to reduce inflammation and support my recovery.

The anti-inflammatory properties of Omega-3 fatty acids, and explains how they can help minimize swelling and discomfort after surgery. This simple addition to my recovery plan proved invaluable in promoting a smoother healing process.

3. Red light therapy

Discovering the benefits of red light therapy was a turning point.

Dr. Barrett recommended this non-invasive approach to speed healing, reduce inflammation and lessen scarring.

I can do this LightStim for pain Do it at home for 20 minutes every day and it has helped tremendously! (Code: KATIE20 for 20% OFF)

4. Mindful Movement: Training for flexibility and comfort

You know I don’t like sitting still! I’m taking months away from my normal routine in the MOVE app After having a baby, it was hard. I knew it would take about six weeks to get back into the swing of things initially, but after my first experience I was 100% ready to take it slow!

When Dr. Barrett was doing well, I began light, low-impact lower-body exercises that increased blood circulation and prevented chest muscle stiffness.

I am now 7 weeks post-surgery, able to exercise normally again and feel great!

I vlogged the entire experience if you’d like to see more day by day how it went! look at it Here.

Barrett and his team ensured that every aspect of my wellbeing was taken into account so that I felt supported and cared for throughout the entire process.

Long story short: If you’re thinking about having surgery OF ANY kind, do your research and have a solid plan! And of course go to Dr. Barrett if you can because he is AWESOME!
