Introduction

Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO) is a development sector private company engaged in education, health, livelihood, and irrigation water management fields. The company has received small grants from the Dutch Government Economic Affairs Department subsidiary RVO on a public-private partnership basis. The Balochistan Government through the Irrigation Department. In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in July 2020.


Civil Engineering jobs in Balochistan Project

The project is titled "New Water Rights in Basin Management," which is exclusive to Spate Irrigated Areas in Pakistan. Part of the project is being implemented in the Kacho area of the Hyderabad district in collaboration with the Irrigation and Drainage Department and RDF in the Sindh province.


The remaining half of the expected funds need to be utilized for the sprinkler system in the Bhag Nari area (Bala Nari and Zerena Nari) located in Tehsil Bhag, Bolan Balochistan. This TOR only covers the preparation of the Civil Works PC-1 (BOQ) for various canal improvements along the Nari River, such as expenditures for improving canal and farm gate irrigation supplies. The package of improvements includes the improvement and repair of flood channels, drinking water ponds, and field entrance/exit structures.

The scope of work has been identified by local PMC members from different canals, 


which will benefit from the Nari River as follows


  • Restoration of the Easter DIke Dool Wah 5000rft
  • Restoration of Musa Wah at Haji Shahr 9000ft
  • Construction of new pond at Duke Village/Village Protection
  • Khuda Bakhsh Strait embankment with Jazzi barrier
  • Construction of Dour (outfall/breach)
  • Musa Wah 9000rft desilting
  • 15 on-site water management structures (in brickwork)
  • Repair of 2 channels of Erri Ganda (8000rft)
  • New village protection embankment
  • Village Protection Outside Bund Salalabad


(Note: 

The scope of work may change as per the farmer's approval during the preparation of PC-1)

For this, an engineering company/professional service is required to conduct quantity calculations, necessary drawings, cost estimation, and site planning as per the requirements of the Balochistan Irrigation Department.

Attached rate sheet for 2018. The incumbent needs to undertake the following tasks before commencing work:

Conduct field surveys and measure the scope of work for each canal and system given in serial numbers 1-10.


Design cost estimates for each project component

The deadline for this task is 45 days from the date of signing the joint agreement after the selection.

For field surveys, the office will closely coordinate with local farmers through its PMC/FO members. The estimated time for on-site data collection is approximately 15 days.

The office can also provide transportation from the Bhag office to different locations.


Payment of fees Civil Engineering jobs in Balochistan

Task payment will be made in 3 installments of the agreed consultancy fee, (i) 40% as a written advance payment, (ii) the second payment will be made after the PC-1 draft is finalized, 20% and the final payment should be made upon submission of the final PC-1 and accompanying documents to the Irrigation Department.
