In addition to vitamins, minerals, and trace elements, vinegar also contains amino acids and pectin. Experts emphasize that these ingredients are only found in very small amounts and can hardly have a positive effect.

Nevertheless, many people swear by the healing properties of apple cider vinegar. A morning drink made from two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar, a glass of water, and a teaspoon of honey is said to melt away the pounds on your hips and contribute to fat loss.


 The fact is that the miracle cure only provides limited support when losing weight. If you want to lose weight, you have to change your diet and exercise. It has been proven that acetic acid stimulates the flow of saliva and the production of digestive juices in the intestine. Cravings and an appetite for sweets should be curbed by taking vinegar.


The miracle drug can therefore be used to stimulate the metabolism. Only the digestive-supporting effect of vinegar has been proven. Whether apple cider vinegar contributes to weight loss has not yet been scientifically proven. The power drink is helpful for bloating and flatulence. In addition, fruit vinegar ensures healthy intestinal flora, as the acid kills putrefactive bacteria.


You should never take apple cider vinegar undiluted because the acid it contains could attack tooth enamel over time! Diluted, fruit vinegar can help against bleeding gums or inflammation of the oral mucosa, as it has an antiseptic effect. Apple cider vinegar is also said to have a positive effect on heartburn.


External use of vinegar


Although scientific evidence is lacking, not everything is vinegary with vinegar. Applied externally, apple cider vinegar is effective for acne, psoriasis, or small skin injuries. Fruit vinegar has an antibacterial and decongestant effect. Compresses with apple cider vinegar have proven effective for bruises or painful insect bites. Soothing compresses with vinegar cool a sunburn.


After washing your hair, a conditioner with diluted apple cider vinegar ensures a shiny head of hair. If you suffer from dandruff, massage the undiluted vinegar onto your scalp. The acid pulls the cuticle of the scalp together.


After the shower, rubbing apple cider vinegar diluted with water on the skin has a very invigorating effect. The formation of skin fungi is inhibited and blood circulation is promoted. Sweating should even be reduced for a while. Apple cider vinegar has reportedly worked like a deodorant when rubbed under the armpits.


Apple cider vinegar is also said to achieve detoxifying results as a bath additive in bath water. If you have itchy or burning skin, a bath with apple cider vinegar relieves the symptoms and reduces the itching. Even if there is no scientific evidence, apple cider vinegar is well-established in natural medicine: the vinegar is just as helpful as a remedy for sore throats or coughs as it is as a fever-reducing calf or chest wrap.


According to the Baden-Württemberg consumer advice center, an investigation by the European Food Safety Authority has shown that there is no scientific evidence for the effect of fruit vinegar. The experts point out that a purifying and detoxifying effect could not be determined. Consumer advocates warn in particular against apple cider vinegar capsules, which are commercially available as dietary supplements.


 The effectiveness of the capsules has not been proven and is probably only for the profit of the manufacturer. According to the experts, however, nothing stands in the way of taking two teaspoons of fruit vinegar as a cure.

Make your apple cider vinegar


To make vinegar yourself, you need patience. Acidic varieties such as Boskop are particularly suitable for making vinegar. Fill a suitable stoneware container with freshly squeezed apple juice and seal it airtight with a plastic cover. Carbon dioxide is produced during fermentation, so the plastic cover will probably rise slightly. The mixture should sit in a warm place for about six weeks.


After the time has elapsed, fill the resulting apple cider into a container, which you cover with a cotton cloth. A fermentation balloon is ideal. Now it's time to wait again; shake the container gently from time to time. After a further six weeks, apple cider vinegar has been produced, which is best cleaned through a filter before further consumption.


Apple cider vinegar cure – try it yourself!


If you want to test the effect of the “miracle cure apple cider vinegar” for yourself, you should mix a glass of water with two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in the morning before breakfast. If you add a spoonful of honey, the concoction will taste less acidic. To achieve an effect, you should carry out the cure for at least four weeks. And even if there is no scientific evidence: Faith is known to move mountains!
